She's a beauty! Are those Grover tuners I see in the pics?

Slav

Super sweet! How are you digging it now after you've had a few years of playing it? Worth all the stress I expect.

Yupp - the tuners are Grovers as the guitar itself is from 2000, but the neck that came with the whole puzzle is from the early nineties, and they apparently had locking Grovers stock then.
I did not change them as they're still working fine and have some less weight compared to the locking Schallers.

How am I digging it - well... BLISS !
The neck got a complete resanding, refretting, refinishing from our forumite Mick and already was well broken in.
The whole thing rings and vibrates just like a very well worn in vintage guitar, and the Kinman PUs (AVn '54) just fit the whole package great.
(If I remember right Mick once said "she sounds and plays like a vintage $tr@t player would wish his guitar would...")
As she is really "mint" I only play her occasionally and for the abuse rather use my thoroughly used up Pearl Purple HSS Silo Special... :)

Shame on you :D use it and abused it :p

I just don't dare

...the one cool thing about lingerie is that you can always use your imagination on the "what's beyond" :D

Seriously - I don't play her hard.
Nuthin' but lovin' touchs.

Her hard rockin' sister in pearl purple gets all the beatings ;)
...even more because she has a ToneZone on the bridge...

That´s funny

But one day, when having some useless money, it will be a AL MM90, a AXIS MM90 or a Silo :)

mmmhh. always nice to read the own posts some years later .... it became an AL SSS... a keeper

talking of useless money.... beejs 20th in the "for sale" thread is worth taking a look...

+1

I just don't like the trem...it's a Wilkinson VSV, right?

...and yes - HOLY THREAD RESURRECTION :D

...well, it originally WAS a Wilkinson VSV stock, but when I bough that Silo Special (used), it already hat that Rockinger vintage steel block trem retrofit.
Never saw a reason to change that as my trem is fixed and the sound is great.

Wholey thread resurr-what ?! :)
