So i was driving my truck (2008 Toyota TRD Sport) today and i've had a tie-down strap in the back for about a week now... and somehow the strap end slipped between the cab and the bed of my truck wrapping itself around the driveshaft- no biggie right? Well the hook portion of the tie-down managed to put a dime sized hole in the cab looking like i was shot at with a gun. needless to say i'm a bit frustrated with the events of today...

Be happy that it didn't hit the 20'th somehow. (what I expected you'd be saying)

I once left my only car key on my wife's roof.....and she drove away. It's the last Audi I'll own. $135 and a week's wait for it to come from Germany.

Thats too bad Peter. I as well was thinking it was leading to some kind of a guitar disaster.

Its only a truck... not a Music Man. ;)

.

the 20th when taken out of the house (once a week) she rides shotgun... i guess this is where my OCD comes into play with me being particular about my cars and guitars...

i've heard that the laser cut keys for the european cars are beyond expensive... which is one reason i chose my truck. Such is life i guess... it's only a truck!

Once I put my amp (2x12) by the trunk and went inside to grab my keys, the guitar and a diet coke. Then I put the guitar in the car along with myself and the diet coke. I looked in the mirror and it was all clear when I started to back up.

DOH!

Other than a few scratches on one of the amp's knobs everything was OK. That's one tough amp

Sorry to hear this man. But does it really exist without a pic? ;) I was sitting at a stop sign once in my toy pup waiting to turn right and along comes two goofy chicks in a full size ford pickup, ran the stop sign.......they went by me so close they hit my drives side mirror, slamming it into the front edge of the door producing a nice dent. Then traffic prevented me from going after them. LOL

Where is the hole on the truck? Can we see it?

technically it's not visible from looking straight at the truck but once you get to the side and look between the bed and the cab there lies the wound... oh well i'm over it! it's just a truck and i'll patch 'er up and still get my AL this summer...

aha...in Germany you would have waited also for one week...and paid 150...f****ing EUROs, I mean :D

It was a 2000 S4. The dealer was able to program it knowing only the VIN. They told me that if the car was 2001 or later, I'd have had to flat bed it in as the car has to be present with the key to program it.

Fortunately.....none of my balls need reprogramming. :D
