Does anyone know how many original Inca Siver Stingrays were produced from 1977-79?
And how many are known to exist today?

Thanks:

Jim

Some yellow over time. I keep on thinking it should be "Aztec Gold" :D

I've never seen any literature on Inca Silver but it is a legit Pre-EB finish.

Out of all the serials I have, there's only a handfull.

Imagine a Classic Collection in Inca Silver!

Inca Silver is like a Venus fly trap for debris. Looks great, but flat silver is difficult to produce consistently.

Thanks for all the replies.
I did check Gav''s site first.
Kevins: I have the color change problem with a Lake Placid Blue Fender, now with a greenish tint.
Dargin: I didn't know about the production problems with silver.
Mike, the 79 fretless would be a great score if you could get it.
I would love to see a SR4 classic collection in Inca Silver. That I'd order if it were available.

Same here. Same here..... :)

But, to be honest, if I were BP I´d turn a Inca Silver Classic Stingray (with matching headstock and maple board!) into a 40th or 50th Anniversary model. THE ultimate anniversary bass in my book! I´d be willing to wait for 6 or 16 years. I´d be 50 or 60 yo at that time. 40th Anni would be to prefer since I and others would get more time playing it. :)

How close is the Sterling Silver from 2009 to the Inca Silver from the 70's?

I have a 1999 Fender Jazz in Inca Silver that most definitely is now Inca Green. Not just an EBMM phenomena.

Inca Silver Bring it Back!

Perhaps a petition should be started! I have a black BOO 'Ray that I'll never sell but I would defiantly save my pennies for a Stingray Classic in Inca Silver. If enough people keep requesting it maybe they will bring it back!!!

Hey man!!
One little pic of your old bass, has found a happy home here! I will say the colour under the pickguard has turned a slightly yellowed silver..
