At last night's gig, a woman was intently (and quite closely, proximity wise) staring at my Bongo 5 single H Orange Firemist/white vintage pearloid while I was on stage.

At the end of the night, while I was tearing down, she came up to me and said, "That is the most beautiful bass I have ever seen and I could not take my eyes off of it."

Bongos are indeed attention grabbing instruments. I expect that my new incoming Big Al 5 single H will also be, maybe even more so.

EBMM sure knows how to design basses!

"Chicks dig the Bongo"

I learned this a while ago when I had my first Bongo and more recently when my wife bought me my second. Her reaction to the Bongo has always been "Oooooooh - I LIKE that bass!" I get similar responses when I play it in church

I think it has to do with the curves and odd shapes. Whatever the case, I really believe that there is something about the Bongo that appeals to the ladies.

And that's okay by me!

After selling my original Bongo 5 HH pictured in my avatar photo, Mrs.sitonmybass bought me "The Bass Ship," (Bongo 5 HH, sterling silver/black pearloid pickguard) as a second anniversary present.

I've found it's not only women.

Almost all non musicians that I come across like the shape of the Bongo. About 80% of the non bass playing musicians like the Bongo. And it's kind of a crap shoot with bass players. Some like it and some don't.

I just got a Big Al this weekend and I'm curious to see what the reaction to that bass will be.

Considering how much time women spend in the bathroom, I'm not surprised that she stared at the Bongo since it does resemble a toilet seat:D:D:D Just Kidding...

I believe this story to be 100% true. But I bet it was Mrs. Sitonmybass on the front row! And then she started yelling, "Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii'm coming out so you better get the tea party started!" :p

On second thought, I bet ya'll have a stage at your house so you can play pretend.

You're looking good at 51 sir! What's your secret?

Diet, excercise, clean living (relatively*) and good old fashioned genetics.
