Kevins I do think you asked a v reasonable question - I guess we won't get an answer because the plan is evolving and will depend on how well they sell.

BP did tell Rod Trussbroken they had a lot of other colours in mind - so not sure if the pastels will be replaced - I guess if they sell well they won't be! I doubt we're going to find out much more for now though......................

Maybe the pastels will be offered on regular bass models like SR5, Big Al, Bongo etc???!!!

For now buying a Classic Collection will be fine for me though. Otherwise my bank manager will be going very pale I suspect.

my personal favorite was when you made me out to be an ignorant jackass

Nobody here is an ignorant jackass. Some people can inexplicably turn into twats, and others have a limited grasp of spelling and puncuation, but that's the beauty of it.

Mark, can you please direct me to the exact post where you saw that the classics were not a limited run? I assumed they would be, but nobody seems to be sure.

Post #9 (by Dargin) in the link I already gave on page 1 of this thread - if the plan has changed from that, I'd imagine that one of the EBMM would have piped up by now in this thread.

still inconclusive. I read every page of that other thread. Most of it while it elapsed. Still have no idea if these are here to stay or are just this years BFR. though I suppose they did debut last year to be technical.
Still, holding out for some miracle so I can pick up both a classic and one of the various balls floating around with ebony f-boards.

They are ongoing models.

eggselent ive been considering getting one eventually on grounds of "i gots one bass with the flatwounds and another with the roundwounds." ive had to switch back to rounds for the time being due to the D string finally dying after 1 and a half good years of service and im currently using a 2 year old pair of rounds and loving the tone from them. i thought id never go back to rounds but here i am considering it again. not only that some people are telling me the prices they paid on them and i must honestly say "THAT IS RIDICULOUSLY LOW" for something of that high quality.

EBMM has bitchin' stuff made by bitchin' people and theres no price gouging going on whatsoever.

Price wise, the Classic Series is nicely placed between the standard instruments and the BFRs so there is room for its long term existence in the EBMM product line. It's nice to be able to get something a step above the already excellent line and yet still attain a more traditional look relative to the quilts and flames of the beautiful BFRs.
