EB Strap locks WIN

After my SR came off her strap for the second time in as many days I decided that it was time for strap locks.

Brands D and S seem to be the two competing "standards" and both have their share of internet horror stories of locks failing or PITA stuff like screw size incompatibility and the need to drill or fill screw holes.

Enter EB locks. Fool proof installation. Five minutes per bass and I was rocking again. The screws are the same diameter and thread pitch as the OEM ones so there is no need to resize holes or use toothpicks/glue and other funny stuff as fillers. Hardened and plated steel parts so they will last a lifetime. If you mess up and not tighten the button nut enough and it loosens a bit the bass will not fall. EBMM logo proudly displayed to affirm to the world that you are in fact, a fanboi. Install these things on all your basses. I will.

I put a set on my DDII mostly out of curiosity (and a nod to the fanboi element) and I dig 'em. I've never had an issue with "brand D" and I have them on all my other basses. But I also ordered a set of the EB locks to go with my Classic.

Was finally going to pull the trigger on a few sets of these yesterday and was at the Nashville GC, unfortunately they were plum out of the nickel/chrome ones. I'll be placing an order soon

Agreed; stick with the brand you know and trust. One strap for all your basses, which is very convenient. That way, you have spare locks in case there's a problem (doubt the button would fail). Also, if you're wireless, your bodypack can stay on one strap and just switch the bass out. Save money on straps, too. I'm using the Comfort Strapp, which is pretty decent.

I had been using "brand S" on all my basses until I bought my SR5 HH. I bought a set of Ernie Ball Strap Locks since the screw size was the same and I wouldn't have to drill or fill holes on my precious new EBMM bass. I have to say that I am quite pleased with these locks. One of the problems I would occasionally have with "brand S" is the nut would come loose and the strap would slip off the lock, with the EB locks even if the nut comes loose the strap will not slip off. I don't have any experience with "brand D" but the design and quality of the EB locks is FAR better than "brand S," and I would suspect the same for 'brand D."

Actually, I have a strap for each bass and I keep each strap in the case with it's bass, this way I don't run the risk of forgetting a strap. Also, when I did use one strap I would have to re-adjust it slightly for each bass, this way I just grab the bass I want and the strap is ready to go. To me this all is worth the added expense.

Question: Can I get the pins separately?

I have a set of the EB locks, but for switching basses with one strap it would be enough to just have some extra pins for the other basses.

Actually, I have a strap for each bass and I keep each strap in the case with it's bass, this way I don't run the risk of forgetting a strap. Also, when I did use one strap I would have to re-adjust it slightly for each bass, this way I just grab the bass I want and the strap is ready to go. To me this all is worth the added expense.

I do the same thing. A strap per bass.

I also use thread lock on the S-brand nuts to prevent them from ever coming undone. I also do a periodic check on them.

I have to agree, I've bought some of these as a test and have been VERY satisfied with them.
