Wow, I dig these. I just got a black Axis with a maple board so I guess I'll take the white one with rosewood. Yin and yang...

Never heard of or saw the Reflex before. Love that 25th Anniv. body shape.

I'm dying to try a 25th or Reflex. I love my Axis SS and the only concerns for me for the 25th is the vintage saddles (don't like the feel of them as much as the solid steels but it's not a deal breaker). Another thing is that on my Axis SS i can go from series HB tones to parallel split sounds with a single switch (great for live) where on the 25th the same pickup switcheroo takes 2 switch moves.

On the other side of the coin, I really wish my Axis SS had an angled 5-way like the 25th does. I was always more of a Strat guy than a Tele guy and the switch orientation on the 25th makes so much more sense to me.

Aesthetically speaking - I prefer the Axis shape...but that might be more familiarity than anything.

Saddles can be changed with out to much work or cost. You were in correct about the switching though. In series the 5 pickup positions are exactly the same as on every Axis Super Sport. It gives you 5 new tones that the ASS does not have in the other mode. The guitar Di simply sweet!

I'm more a fan of the vintage saddles myself (zzzzing!), but notwithstanding the 25th is an unbelievable guitar. Try it try it try it.

are you sure about position 2 and 4 with series switch on ? according to EBMM wiring pos2 is outer coil of 2 pups in series while on the ASS it's parallel

so my understanding is that ASS switch blade is a combination of 25TH pos 1 3 5 serie on pos 2 4 parallel on

On the 25th, the blade gives you combinations of either series or parallel coils.

In series, the bridge, neck and middle positions (1,3,5) are the same as the ASS. In parallel, the quack positions (2,4) are the same.

You guys may very well be right. I just looked at the diagram got slightly confused but realized that 1 I just love all the positions and 2 I run it mostly in par for what I have been doing as of late. Sorry
