I'm going to be brand new to the Music Man family. Yesterday I ordered the Bongo 6-string. It says that I have 2-5 days to wait for delivery. I have a Gallien-Krueger 1001RB-II w/GK Neo412 just waiting for the Bongo.

I'm going crazy ..... I've wanted to own a Music Man bass since I saw Flea with one in the early 90's ..... I have no patience. Please, someone .... help me get through this until it arrives!!!:p

There are always illegal drugs or vast quantities of alcohol. Some say online porn can pass the time, while others look to quilting or lawnwork.

Personally, I don't find any of those very useful.

When it arrives, do yourself a favor.

Sit down with it in your lap and play it unplugged for a couple of minutes before you turn on your amp.

They say an instrument that sounds good unplugged will sound great amplified.

Just try it. You'll see.

Drink enough to make you pass out, that works.

Be wary of drugs though, anything with stimulating qualities will make each minute seem like an hour...then there's the come down...

Just be patient! What colour/pickup combo did you go for?

Haha... I am at day 97 for my (I mean my wife's) Stealth Sterling. I got shipping notification today from The Perfect Bass. This is the longest wait i have had for an EBMM i custom ordered. I am not complaining as i think 3 months is more than acceptable for an american made instrument. My last two came in at 62 and 74 (i think) days. Try getting an Alembic or Fodera in 3months! JOSH

Actually .... I ordered my bongo stock from Musician's Friend. It's just black on black. 1st and foresmost, I wanted a VERY versatile bass, and with it being me ..... it HAD to be a 6-string. I did a buttload of research on Warwick, Carvin, Pedulla, all the big names. Time and time again though, my heart just kept coming back to Music Man. I figured if I didn't make the leap now, I never would ..... so I just wanted to get my hands on one, and get them on one ASAP!! So I just went stock and said the hell with it. There's 2 really good reviews on YouTube of the Bongo 6, and after hearing those, I said, THAT'S ME RIGHT THE "F" THERE!!! I believe the only thing I may change on it after awhile, is the pickguard. My dream is to have my bongo be black w/grey pickguard, and then maybe next tax season, get my Stingray 5 Grey w/black pickguard. Sure, I'm lame, but I have a funny feeling I'm going to be a Music Man for life now.

The band I'm in, Crimson Nightfall, is more of the melodic metal. We use keys and like those big, huge, monk chants, but THANKFULLY, we don't write our music were it's 40 songs of blastbeats. We've noticed that with the 4 of us, our music lately has started to lean more towards out progressive influences. EVERY review I've read on the bongo basses says they're more geared to progressive music, so again, I said ..... THAT'S ME RIGHT THE "F" THERE!!!

I will take the one guy's advice, and I'll probably just jump around here in my living room playing it without it hooked up to my amp, 'cause like I said .... I've wanted a MM since the early 90's, (I was about 13-16 then,) so this is going to be a dream come true/kid at X-mas vibe. I have to be honest, I've never been a huge fan of waiting ..... and this is just killin' me!!

Markbass99 .... are you on the Gallien-Krueger forums too? If so, this is CrazyFunkyBassGuy. Have they got those forums fixed yet?

Take really good care of your girl those remaining 2-5 days, because she won't see you for quite some time after you got your EBMM :p
