Wazoo, I wish I was not reading this thread...I feel some major G.A.S. inside me wanting to do the same thing with my Markbass combo.

Any chance you could make some recordings?

I'll try but I assure you, my friend, the improvement from one head to the other is HUGE, when you turn the tube pot to 100% tube it's like pouring hot honey on pancakes, yuuuummmm. Certainly worth the gas you are having.

Oh and the great thing is... that you can get the cover from the new head and fit it over the one that comes out of the combo which hasn't got a cover and the 2 match perfectly and I was able to advertise that on a UK website and sell it within 8 hours!

As you can see I was able to put the lid from the Little Mark Tube on the Combo Head and even attach the 4 rubber feet at the bottom. No drilling required as all the chassis are built by the same jig with all fittings ready. Hell!, The combo head it's even got side fittings for rack ears!

GW, great idea on the combo! Markbass should call it the Grand Wazoo special.

Oh Gosh Wazoo, you are a very bad man. Now I have to explain another purchase desire to my wife.

No wait, she might not notice this one. No don't do it! Don't do it. Go for it, she won't notice. Plus you work hard! No, no more secret purchases. Arrrgh!

Oh come on, Powman! I know you are kidding this "don't tell the wife, she won't notice" stuff is not very nice on your wife!

At least, on this occasion, if you get the LM Tube, you can recover most of your money by selling the original head from the combo. Ok?

Peace!

Yeah, I was kidding. The Bongo when it arrives will be most enjoyable for two reasons:

1. I paid cash.
2. I didn't hide the purchase.

That's the proper way to do it.

But I still would like to hear some sound samples if you could make some recordings Wazoo.

I've got to agree, don't hide from the wife!

When I purchase somthing big for myself I ensure she is also adequatly compensated. I budget that into the purchase price... Jewelry always seems to work best

is it too late to tell my wife i bought a 25th ?

I told my bass that I´ve got a wife awhile ago. She refused to play any low frequencies for several weeks. She´s still pissed at me for not telling. Won´t do that mistake again.....

The 800 came while we were practicing. Ups left it by my front door. Luckily no one stole it. Now, it is safely in my rack. I couldn't mount it in my cabinet like grand Wazoo did. You talk about mass destruction :D:):p;):D

12:00 is the loudest. I like it between there and 5:00. The tube is why I bought it.

Bwahahahaha.... I'm glad I wasn't drinking anything when I read this... or I'd have to factor in the price of a new monitor and keyboard..... 50 points.
