MM Sterling+Markbass+Sansamp RBI=WOWWWWW!

Hi all!!!

Just want to share my new experience with my Sterling... I just bought a MarkBass CMD102P, and paired it with my SansAmp RBI, and the sound is just amazing! Clear, warm, and punchy! I've got a lot of good comments about my sound and tone!

Here is some pics of my last weekend gig! Had a lot of fun with my Sterling, it's always special to play on a MM, and i got A LOT of comments like: "MAN, Your bass is kiking some &?*/"/..... And Your sound is just amazing!!!! Always fun to reply: Man, that's a Musicman, and my tone is a Musicman tone!!!!

Anyways, I'm still pleased and SOOO satisfied with this piece of art!

How did you set everything up? Did you put the Sansamp in front of the amp? Or did you use the effects send/return?

Cool pics and a great rig too! I'm running one of two Bongo 4HH basses (one w/ rounds, one w/ flats) into a Sansamp VT Bass then into a Markbass Jeff Berlin 1x15 combo (LMII combo head). Bass never sounded so good IMO! This rig just flat rocks! Glad you're diggin' yours.

I've also used the Sansamp for a while ... it's not bad sounding, but imho it steals away all the "good" mids, while it makes basses sound very similar ... it's very ok if you want to have that sound, but else ... my 0,02 €

I actually go from my bass to the Sansamp, then one output into the Markbass, and other sansamp output to mixing console. Nerver sounded like that!! Amazing! I still have a bit of fine tuning to do on my sansamp.. but still, I'm VEERRYYY pleased with my sound!

Nop.... we do not play YMCA... even if it looks like!! I think it's in Long train running (doobie brothers)... right after the break (where would you be now........) we then start a kick drum and try to animate the crowd....

I agree with you, Sansamp RBI can scoop mids big time... But you have the "blend" button that can really helps!! For my setup, the bland button is at 1 o'clock... so that way, you have the deep bottom, warm sound from sansamp, and you still have the punchy mid and hi from the musicman... well... that's how I love my sound...

as an experiment, try having the RBI in the effects loop. You may find the tone is a bit more defined as the markbass eq will then get processed by the sansamp.
