I spent an hour playing my three Balls last night -- a 20th Silhouette, a Silo Special (S-S-S), and an MM90 AL. I played a variety of music back-to-back with the guitars -- swapping from one Ball to the other. MM90's simply rock. They have more depth than the single coils on my Silo Special but a bit brighter and clearer than the humbuckers on the 20th. Almost like a good compromise between SCs and humbuckers. On that note, I'd LOVE to sample a gold roller with the minibuckers.

The five way switch on the AL produces some great tone options. Wonderful cleans, crunchy leads, and a smile on my face. I know they're hard to find, but if you spot an AL with MM90's give it a try. I'm guessing the ASS w/MM90's is equally as nice.

They're the ideal choice for the ageing bluesman......I'm sure they're good for lots of other things too.

I love the MM90's on my Spaceball, but the middle one on the Al gets in my way (I dig way in). Can't argue about their goodness, though. They definately are different from single coils, though. The sound is totally different from the singles in my Al.

Gimme a break, I need sleep! All awake now from a good nights sleep dreaming of more MM90 AL's and ASS's. Now onto a day of MM90 twangin. In all seriousness I'm not sure even EBMM themselves know what a killer pickup they have produced, its phenomenal really, the clarity and punch and sparkle, its just great. I'd love to see more limited stuff using the MM90's.

I was watching vids of Big Al about a year and a half ago and all of a sudden I thought, "what a cool guitar, I'll have me one o' them babies." Next I found Rob's vids where he was playing the MM90s and the die was cast. I've played mine all up and down the road for close to a year now and I love it to death. It's about as good as a bolt-neck single-coil guitar can get. MM90s are killer pickups. The clean tones are so good and when you flip it to the neck to solo it just sings.

When I first got into the MM90 AL I wasnt impressed at all with the bridge pickup, now its my preferred rock tone, it just stings, rather than sings, perfect for what I do. Once again, that magic Tal Morris vid demo's the MM90 bridge so well.

Can you tell me why I have never seen a Silhouette with 3 x MM90's - seems obvious and very desirable to me ????

Because EBMM don't make one? I agree it might be interesting, but you'd need to buy an ALMM90 to get the PUs (I understand they don't sell them separately) and then have a custom guard made. I have an ASSMM90 and a Warmoth VW Sportalike with Seymour Duncan P90s, and they're not the same....I prefer the Balls

Add me to that list. I've had an AL and an Axis SS with MM-90s - loved the pickups but just really prefer the feel of a Silo Special to either of those models (I know - they're both great guitar designs but just not for me). I think either a Silo or Silo Special with 3 MM-90s would be great!

The Silo body is extremely comfortable for me too...much better than the ASS and just slightly better than the AL (again it's just my opinion).

Seeing MM90's offered in other guitars would be cool for sure, but I'm guessing it wouldn't be desired enough to justify production. Just a guess there.
