I'll try white pearloid for a bit

The "you should stand out" crowd has influenced me to keep the white pearloid on for a bit.

Up close the black ice looks awesome imho.

With lighting on a stage, the white pearl I think would be looking pretty slick I bet. Kinda like here...

Just examined these pics from fifteen feet away from the monitor. I think you made a wise choice. The black ice looks very cool, but I like the contrast of the white pearl.

...and now I have to go order a cream/black/cream pickguard for my Rolls Burgundy Bongo. It's currently sporting a very nice tort guard, but I'd like a bit more contrast, too. Blast!

Yeah, well, my CR H Bongo originally had a white ice pickguard, but I loved the idea of black (classy and understated was the thought), so I did he swap right away.

Gigged it one time, saw the pics and realized the error of my ways. I immediately bought the cream pearl and am glad I did.

Contrast!

I definetly prefer the white pearloid on that bass.

When my new Big Al 5 single H arrives I'll have all three of the EBMM pearloid pickguards on three of my basses...

Both looks great, but after a few days of thinking I voted for White Pearloid!

I don't know, in close up view Black Ice looks better, but from a distance, no doubt, ...White Pearloid, definitely! ;)

I've always felt the pickguard should contrast the body as well as the bridge humbucker to enhance that classic MM p/g shape and bridge humbucker.

I think that a clear scratchplate like the one I had made for my Bongo makes them look the sexiest.

Just my $0.02: Go for contrast. A dark guard on a bright bass and vice versa.

See how the contrasting guard makes the bass "pop?"

(shameless excuse to post more Bongo photos) :D:D:D
We're posting Bongo pictures here now? :D

I'd consider that light on light, I like it.

I do believe that's the first MM I've seen with a clear pickguard I liked  very nice

I voted White Pearl, just so this message is somewhat on topic :p The Black Ice kinda makes the bass "disappear" to my eyes, as has been said by many others.

So what's your opinion as to a different pickguard for the DDII HHp 5'er that should be showing up at my house next week... I'm thinking abalone, but the Dargie's seem so stand out by themselves... I don't know what to do. I'm confused & sitting in a large pool of my own drool...

IMO, the DD colour combo is already the best. Everything else is not better, but different.

Played worship service today...

The pearl white looked great, especially with the lights. I had a chance to see it as an audience member and it was clearly my favorite.

Thanks everyone for the inspiration

I voted white pearloid. I don't dig rosewood boards with black pickguards, I guess I'm funny that way. I'm considering a white pearl or aged white pearl for my 30th.
