I'm now using the Eventide factor pedals and the provide a whole world of options but they do not yet have a VerbFactor although it is in the works.

BUT, with the Time Factor, I was able to make some AMAZING reverb sounds. I used to own an H3000, so there are ways to manipulate the delay patches and make beautiful reverbs.

great little article, love the beginning where the real tube verb is talked about. no doubt about it really.

having used boss pedals it's no surprise to me that the FRV-1 is pretty good.

Clearly I need to explore the TimeFactor more for this as it would make my Nova Reverb obsolete.

There is a Verbfactor in the works from Eventide but there is no official release on when this may be available.

I run a Lexicon Alex on top of my amp, in the loop, and control it with a TRS stomp box. I've never been a big fan of reverb, but the few times I use it during a gig this unit has done well for me. My opinion is that natural reverb is the best, followed by pedals/rack. I have yet to hear a spring reverb that sounds fantastic - maybe the ones I have heard just haven't been used the right way, and I'm so used to the tweaking ability of the pedals/rack it puts me off to the spring.

I havent even owned it for 24 hours yet, its not used for anything yet! Gimme some time man! ;)

LOL - Yeah it takes a little time to get it going.

In answer to the live scenario - I am using it going XLR out stereo to the FOH and pumping myself through my monitor so I can hear myself of course. I have a TC Nova System in the FX Loop of the Eleven Rack for additional effects, stereo delays, expression pedal, etc... It sounds great. I recently also purchased a Morpheus DropTune and although I have some YouTube videos of the Eleven Rack and showing off some of my user presets (the presets it ships with I've had to modify quite a bit which is not abnormal...) I also have a demo of the Morpheus running into the Eleven Rack and recorded direct and not the usual LAZY route I take of using the mic on the video camera :) LOL

Anyway check it out - oh and I am playing my JP6 DDII guitar which I L-O-V-E...

Heres one NOT running direct with some more patches I came up with.

I don't use reverb, I tend to have a short delay instead.

If you're going into a PA, you're usually better off adding it through the channel, rather than on the amp, as it can get a bit muddled, especially when the room ambients are taken into account.

this is what i've been debating-
i've looked at the TC NOVA Delay but now i'm thinking about just going with the Nova System... but my questions now are how much would going straight to the amp as opposed to the effects loop... as my amp does not have an effects loop.

I ran the Nova System into the front of my Rebel 20 even though it has an effects loop before I got the Rebel 30, and it sounded really really good which I was happy about because I wondered the same thing. With the Nova System if you run it in an effects loop anyway, it disables the drive circuit so you can't use the overdrive/distortion which with the Rebel 20 being one channel I had to run it in the front and just set the amp "clean" and got fantastic results.

thanks so much for the input... i'm running an ORANGE AD30HTC and i love everything about the amp... i've got a few pedals that are deciding to die on me... my compressor and my fuzz pedal died on me last week. So if i look to replace them i'm at the cost of the nova system... so i wasn't sure if it would be worth it.

Sure! You'll dig the Nova I think - I use it more than my G-System actually... NOT that there's ANYTHING wrong with the G-System mind you, it's just way more practical for the small gigs I do. Great amp too BTW :) love those... but anyway with the Nova you have all those expression capabilities also at your toetips - it opens up so many possibilities. I love it.

I've been thinking a lot about reverbs lately, thinking not only of the guitar but the mandolin too. The Line 6 Verbzilla looks interesting but I'll try the Behringer Reverb Machine first, which is a straight clone of the Verbzilla at a third of the price.
