I'm in the research phase right now, I'm going to buy my first electric Ernie Ball bass, and I have decided on the "Sting Ray". I love the lines and curves and way it looks and feels, sounds. I'm looking for input from the members in the forum for help on colors and models type.

I'm a sucker for the single bucker version. It's like the old Kodak 110 Instamatic camera. Point, shoot.

black/maple if u like the classic look. go for a slo special if you want a thinner neck. i'm also a single bucker guy but make sure you try a double before you decide. you dont want to end up how i was a few months ago when i was gasing for one because i didnt play it enough at GC before i chose my stealth slo.

Stay away from the HH models and the Black Cherry Burst color. Go for something plain and simple. The Black Cherry burst with duel humbuckers can be sensory overload.

I'm not against a dark fret board, I just have afew other basses with that and would like a maple neck for a change of pace. I am all about simple and one color, unless I can find a tobacco sunburst, I'm really digging that green or orange color that I've seen recently on the forums. I have alot to read thru and compare...thanks
