Do you leave your bass(es) bone stock or do you hot rod em out and make them "yours"?

If you do customize them what do you like to do to them?

What resources do you use for parts?

Any full paintjobs in here?

If you have pics of your creations I'd love to see them. Variety is the spice of life!

I've modded two of my Rays by changing from 3EQ to Music Man 2EQ (with jack on the control plate). With each, the "obsolete" underside body jack has been rewired to go direct to the pickup as a passive option which bypasses the pre-amp and turns off the battery.

All's fully reversable. The 2EQ's have been fully wired on their own control plates while the 3EQs have been left as-is and safely stored.

I really appreciate Your approach for modding!

When I'll make some slight pickup switch rewire modding, I will record all on photos and wiring diagrams and store that stuff safely, so any time I could restore genuine factory setup!

Way cool.... that means you could do proper recordings of a StingRay's passive tone! (which I tried to do on my http://www.ernieball.com/forums/music-man-basses/42214-stingray-sound-examples.html by removing the battery...)

I changed the bridge pickup in my 20th Silo with a Breed and put in a coil tap. I did it because it worked better with the way my amp/effects were set up. I have been thinking about changing it back because I have changed my amp setup again. reversible mod, not a big deal.
