That's funny...and here I always wanted a 5er with the 4 string pickguard. I know they're available now but no money yet and no job since September...:(

That's why I got a SUB5 - see my photo album - I was never a fan of the large pg on the SR5 - also why I got a couple of Sterling 5s - oval pg and smaller body!

You too - I've been out of work (day gig) for a year - surviving on gigs with several different bands, but still looking for a full-time thing.

Another idea - get a clear pickguard - they are available - it minimizes the big oval, while retaining the look of the oval - and better than just taking the pg off and leaving the holes - although it worked for Jaco. I used to have a Stingray with a clear pg, but I prefer the black pg now. Besides the TM headstock shape, you can spot a Stingray from a mile away because of that big oval pg!

As been said already, not from the factory. But someone here did make their own by buying a full blank pickguard sheet and cut one out.

Clear PGs available here:
Pickguard Heaven: Prices - Music Man
See Group C pricing - has clear plexi
Got a couple PGs here for my SUB5 - clear and black because I couldn't decide which one to go with - black in my album pic, but I changed it to the clear, so I could see more of the sparkle finish!

Not sure I am supposed to post this but Roger at Jeannies can make you pretty much anything you want in any color or material. He has done over a dozen different ones for me and they were all perfect and all amazing...

JEANNIE PICKGUARDS HOME PAGE

I would call him and tell him what you need and he can most likely hook you up!

Peace,
