Well, if it's a "girls bass" I'll be glad to take it! I could use a new bass anyways.

Bah! Some people though. That bass couldn't even touch the Hello Kitty bass with it's "girlyness".

Awesome colour on your Sterling! I'm really missing the "girls bass" thing here though. I consider the "Daisy Rock" line as girls instruments. Never an EBMM though. Also, what's wrong with a girl playing a Sterling anyway?

This is true. Heart and flower shapes with pretty bright colors seem a bit more girly than anything...

And I agree, awesome color on the bass.

And there is nothing wrong with a girl playing a sterling bass (or any instrument really). If that was the case, then I'm just doing it wrong I guess. :D But I refuse to put any of my instruments down.

I think I would actually like a Sterling. The few test drives I've taken were favorable. Besides, my baby asprin orange Stingray doesn't get many comments about its "manly" color either. I, however, do not care. The tone, man; it's the tone!

Good looking bass, BTW.

*You aren't disagreeing with me. You are disagreeing with my band-mates. I'm not the sexist one. And in their defense I think they were referring to its smaller stature, more elegant shape and all around sexier appearance when compared to the other logs I have brought to practice.

Sorry about that, mis-typed. I meant to say your band mates and if they meant it like that then it actually turns out to be more of a complement. The first Sterling I ever played was one just like yours in your picture.

Girl's bass? Nonsense.

The Sterling may be the smallest of the MM bass guitars, but its got the biggest and most aggressive sound of them all.

Yeah! +1

But what about me? I'm playing 5 string Sterling, so that means that I'm a grown up girl? :D

Point #1: I recently ordered my wife a Sterling.

Point #2: I often play said Sterling for more aggresive rock type stuff i play.

I ordered the Sterling for my wife due to the fact it is smaller and usually is a bit lighter than a Stingray. That and at the time i had two Stingrays already so why would i need a third. She likes it, and i like the variety in my collection. So is it a girls bass... NO! I just find it a bit more female freindly. That and she didn't like all the buttons and knobs my 25th and Big Al (now with Brad) had. JOSH

I kind of like the looks of the Daisy Rock...

I think their colors and shapes are interesting, but I'm a little eccentric.

I saw a guy driving an eclipse once.

Took my recently purchased 1998 Sterling (see avatar) to its first full band rehearsal last night and my band-mates implied that it was a "girls bass". The guitarist kept asking if it was "full size" or not? Other than that though it was a real treat. Great sound that sat well in the mix and very light weight, comfortable and very fast neck. I was very pleased but wonder. Is the Sterling classified like a Honda Del Sol, Mitsubishi Eclipse and VW Jetta? Is it a "girls bass"?

The Eclipse always makes me think of the 2003 advertisement with the song "Days Gone By." I always liked that commercial.

Well there are some pretty good girl bass players out there as well. I can't get over the one who plays with Beyonce, and the one who used to play with Prince - and Gail Ann Dorsey.

The Sterling is only slightly smaller than a StingRay and has a full scale neck, so I reckon your bandmates have got it totally wrong - you should advise them to look after their part of the music and you'll look after the bass part - I doubt they thought it was a girly bass tone when they heard it!!

Don't worry about what those fools have to say....that's a mighty fine Sterling you have there. I've owned a couple in my day, and there as manly as anything else I've owned.

Since when is the VW Jetta a "girls car"?! My sisters used to have one of them too...oh ok
