Well folks, it finally came...my new Bongo!

Here are some picks for your viewing pleasure. They are not the greatest quality as I just quickly grabbed a few shots. I was too busy playing!

So here are my thoughts so far folks....

The Bongo is everything I hoped it would be. I played it with the roundwounds it came with and it was nice. But what I wanted to do is slap on some flatwounds on it. I did that, adjusted the truss round, lowered the action a bit for my taste and then played it.

WOW! It was everything I hoped it would be. It sounds awesome playing some John Mayer, Bad Company, Supertramp, Maroon 5, blues stuff etc. So deep and rich in tone. The Bongo is totally amazing with flatwounds.

Mind you I must say that I still love my Sterling H with maple fretboard and roundwounds. Used the Sterling tonight with some Joan Jett, Zeppelin, Black Crows.

Two different tones, both great. I am totally pleased!

Nice 4 banger collection! ;)

Now it's time for one 5 banger! :p (joke)

Well done Powman. Nice colour combo (looks so much like mine except the one string less)

I toyed with the idea of a 5 banger. Stuck with 4 because
A) All of my favorite bass players used a 4 string. If its good enough for them, then by golly, its good enough for me.
B) one more string = 25% more string notes to learn. :(I am still working on mastering 4 strings.

Well, it's actually 20%, but never mind..., it was just a joke :D
(no hard feeling please)

P.S. ...when I finish my 5 banger collection, I'll take one EBMM 4 banger for the good ol' days...etc. ;)

No worries!! No hard feelings whatsoever.

But a 5 string bass still has 25% more strings than a 4 string bass (1 more string/4 = 25%). On the other hand a 4 string bass has 20% less strings than a 5 sting bass (1/5 = 20%).

I am going to shut up now and just play my bass!
