My wife bought me a Sub1 as an early birthday present (and I had it shipped to work) and it just arrived. Man is it gorgeous and the price... Wow I kind of feel like I stole this. It's in great shape and has a great piece of rosewood on it. This is my first foray into Musicman guitars but I'm already impressed and I haven't even plugged it in yet. It only has a bridge pickup but I'll change that soon enough - I just need to locate a pickguard and decide what pickups to put in it. Anyway, I'm excited and am now an actual Ball owner.

So here are a few crappy pics I snapped with my phone. Even in the florescent lighting in my office I can see the different colors jumping out of the Cinnamon finish.

Very nice. I've always liked the SUB's, especially the single humbucker models like yours. Nothing says rock machine more than a bridge humbucker, one volume and one tone.

That cinnamon finish is great!!

Welcome to the forum - and well done for posting pictures of your sub.

(I duuno, newb on the forum and already he talks da lingo and abides by the rule that the guitar doesn't exist without pics) ;)

Although I don't own a sub, I have to say that I played one at an exhibition in the uk when I duelled with the devil and it sounded and played great!!
Also a bass player used one (a sub bass)at a gig a while ago, and the sound was awesome. IMO EB must have realised that it just couldn't continue building such excellent guitars at the price they were being sold for.

IMO#2 the sub guitars, as they are nolonger being procuced will become collectable - so leave it as it is and hang onto it.

Nice one!!

Nice SUB1 bro. It's a very underrated guitar (even by me and I own one). The pickup is very nice, you will love it.

BTW, when you restring the guitar, it is currently not correct - the strings should go under on the top, and over on the bottom.

Thanks for the welcomes. I do plan to add a 2nd humbucker but I will get a new guard so I can leave this one alone and will be able to put it back to stock with ease. I figured out the stringing problem as well when I tried to tune it and the tuning pegs on the bottom were backwards. I need to tune it and set it up anyway. It appears as though the screws in the bridge saddles are almost completely out and the action is funky. I suspect I need to do a truss rod adjustment but I need to do some measuring and figure it out. The low E has some buzz at the moment but I suspect that can be fixed easily enough. As it is, I'm very pleased with it even though I'm yet to hear it. I'm in love with the neck.
