Hehe.

Hey, I don't bite ! ;)

But I'm feeling a little embarrassed about my 2nd last post in this thread !!! :D

I'm embarrassed for you too Dizzy:eek:

Welcome Gretchen! BTW, I love your Nigel Tufnel references:p

[discussing Nigel's Guitar collection]
Nigel Tufnel: Look... still has the old tag on, never even played it.
Marty DiBergi: [points his finger] You've never played...?
Nigel Tufnel: Don't touch it!
Marty DiBergi: We'll I wasn't going to touch it, I was just pointing at it.
Nigel Tufnel: Well... don't point! It can't be played.
Marty DiBergi: Don't point, okay. Can I look at it?
Nigel Tufnel: No. no. That's it, you've seen enough of that one.

Great to have you here!
Slav:)

Hey, guys! Glad to be here, and always happy to geek out on guitars (and no need for any embarrassment). :) Just got back from a photo shoot for DiMarzio. I think he got some really great photos with my Silhouette Special. Hey, Sterling! Great to see you, as always, at NAMM!

we would love to see those pictures, as you know on this forum no pictures = it does not exist :p

I have noticed your silo spec is a SSS config but looks like you have a hotrail in the bridge any reason for not going directly with the HSS silo spec? or maybe your taste has change since you got the guitar...just curious :p

I'm not certain if the DiMarzio shots will be for prints ads, but they will be on the website soon.

In terms of pick-up configuration, that's a DiMarzio Fast Track 2 in the bridge position. I went with that when I did a tour with a metal band a few years ago--I really wanted to use my Silhouette Special, but needed something that would give more growl and bite than the exclusively single coil sound, for which I initially opted.

i'll have to check out the fast track 2 for the bridge... i'm messin around right now and i'm thinkin i might need a little extra punch in the bridge on my Silo... although i really do dig the bridge when i clean it up...

how does the FT2 clean up?

The Fast Track 2 cleans up great. After the metal band that was the initial impetus for trying it out, I've kept it in my Silhouette and used it for all sorts of stuff. With the guitar volume all the way up and a decent amount of gain from the amp, the FT2 absolutely screams, but rolling the guitar volume down to about 6 cleans it up beautifully, without having to alter anything on the amp--great for harmonics and volume swells, too.

My website just went up--there are bunch of Silhouette photos and a couple live videos with it.
