I'm looking into getting an Axis ss soon. I was wondering if anyone had any bad
experience with it.
I play hard rock/metal if you need to know. Also I want to get one with a hardtail if that helps also.

Yeah, I became a EBMM addict due to an Axis... be careful, it may be your first but it WILL NOT be your last... haha, Love my Axis! No complaints here..

The oiled neck tends to need some attention here and there that finished necks don't tend to need. But it's totally worth it IMO when you factor in feel and tone of the guitar.

The ASS would be a great choice to go with your JP6, assuming that you can agree with the neck. The JP6 is a very different shape compared to the Axis... but tone wise you would be in great shape.

I have a hardtail Super Sport and I would totally recommend getting one. It's a rock machine for sure...and the bridge pickup is my favorite on any EBMM guitar...tons of bite!

I'm not that crazy about the sharp edge as far as comfort it plays like a breeze but I prefer to play this one standing.

ive got a jp6 and an ass. they kinda do the same things, just in totally different ways. the jp6 is shines when played with finesse. the ass shines when you beat on it. they work well together and between them my new y2d doesnt get much play time. i can elaborate if you want but you get the point

Have both the ASS and JP6. Was also worried about the different neck being that the ASS was the perfect neck for me. No problem adjusting. Both great guitars.

The only thing I would change in my ASS is pickup selector - I'm probably too used to strat-style angled switch. But that little thing is just a matter of taste. I'm sure you won't regret getting an ASS, it's true rock machine :)

Nothing wrong for me I like everything from knob position to selector, tone, feel everything just works fine for me. The only downside for sure is that will want more than one :p

That being said, the Reflex/25th seems to have more tonal options (chambers and 5 new position) slightly bigger guitar and a forearm contour. Was not yet lucky enough to try one but would love to

I've heard if you're a big girl you get binding burn.

Haha I don't get binding burn, I just think the flat top is something someone should try before they buy. I still love it plenty, put the picking angle is much different than a guitar with a scoop.

My only complaints are the lack of a forearm cut/bevel and the neck is narrow at the nut especially compared with a JP neck. Otherwise, its my number one go to gtr. Tonally it just kills...

its ugly, I hate the wood, the neck is a beast to play, it smells, it sounds terrible, gives me hives when I play it, Im pretty sure it bit the cat and peed on the rug... but other than that it is my go to guitar!! hahaha
