Since I bought my SUB last Saturday, I have spent every spare minute playing it. I wish I had have tried a Stingray years ago,if the fun i'm having now on the SUB is anything to go by.
The bass sound I am getting through my Ampeg 100w combo is great, as I am looking at the pots is it V-T-B-Jack socket.I am off work this week so I hope I get get some playing time on my bass & try and find as much information on these basses as I can.

Thank you for clearing that up for me, I'm really into playing this bass at the moment.I am loving the deep bass and the various sounds you can get from this. Are the SUB preety close to the Stingray sound & feel, being that they were made in the same factory & I guess using some of the same parts.

The SUB is very close to the 2-band stingray in tone. Almost identical. They play pretty much the same except the SUB has a painted neck, different body wood, the body is also a slab cut body like the pre ernieball stingrays and the new stingray classics. The hardware is different too but all around you cannot beat a SUB bass for the bang for the buck. It's a good bass and many people on this forum seem to really like them.

It is a very well made bass, there is a Guitar show next month here in the UK so I am going to be on the lookout for any EBMM Stingray spares.

I am so happy with this bass. While I'm off work this week I have spent a lot of time today looking for as much information, on the SUB bass it must have been a brave step for EBMM, to make a bass that was so close to their flagship bass yet cost a fraction of the flagship version. And a huge wake up call to other American guitar builders that you could make a cheaper version in America without making it cheap looking & sounding.

This is honestly the best £99.99 / $153 that I have ever spent on musical gear, the quality, sound & feel and playability, make it feel worth more than what it cost. Am I correct in thinking that bar for the body, scratchplate, bridge & machineheads this is as close to a EBMM Stingray as you can get.

I did buy a SUB, a few months back, and it is now my go-to hard rock bass. I guess EB's loss is the customer's gain. And I think the theory holds. Now I want, in no order of importance, a Bongo, a Big-Al, and a Classic Sterling. It may take me a year of saving my pennies, but I will own one of those within the next 12 months.

Yes even now it seems crazy to me that I managed to get an American made bass, for just under £100 the SUB is definatly a keeper. I don't know how many SUB'S were made during the 3 years, but I would imagine that they will become collectable if there not already.

Does anyone know what month in 2003 the SUB started, thanks to EBMM Customer Service I was told that mine was made on the 10th of June 2003.

It is a great bargin & a fantastic bass, & who knows what I may get next maybe a Bongo for £250 from where I got the SUB from.
