Yep, I've traded a bass, which may or may not be a big thing generally, but to me both what I traded away and what I got in return are very special basses:)

I traded my 20:th for the first Bongo I ever owned, a desert gold Bongo 5 HH! The SR is a wonderful instrument, but it never got as much playtime as any of my bongos or Heinz, I think I was always kind of in awe of the 20:th. So when the guy I sold my first Bongo to contacted me, it didn't take long for us to work out a deal. He's been playing SR5:s since the late 80's and I don't think he ever got used to the 18 V pre.

Apart from a tiny ding it's the same as when I sold it, and it still is the best sounding Bongo ever! (When I sold it I lusted for a Dargie, and I thought Desert gold would be around forever. Also, the only other Bongo I had at that time was the Envy Green, and that one won't go. Ever.)

Very nice Bongo!

I'm also lusting for a Bongo 5HH. But i just cannot decide whether it'll be one in orange firemist, desert gold or lava pearl. What makes it more difficult is that i have never seen one of those colours in real life - only from pictures.

Desert gold is one of my all time favorites for a Bongo, not one of my favorite colours, just the bongo just seems to ware it so well it looks edible almost.
Cool story with a cool ending, its a horrible feeling to sell a bass to trade for another only to find you were better off with what you had in the beginning so glad for you that its found its way back home.

I also love my DG 'Ray... it's a cool colour on *any* instrument, IMO

Nice Bongo, I really like the Desert Gold... but I don't know that I could ever let my 20th go... :)
