Looking for that combo myself...Curious if you found any with a Tort Guard? Thanks!

Peace,

T

Unfortunately, with this line, they are only offering the basses as they are with no options as far as pickguards are concerned. Unless you specifically special order a different color pg. The only one I've seen with a tort guard so far has been a white one, which is really nice.

Thanks! That is what I was afraid of...Easy enough to have a Tort made if you really want one though...How is the weight on yours? She is beautiful! Enjoy...

Peace,

bought a classic 4 a few weeks ago (classic white w/tort gaurd) for $1,450 with the hard case. Have only played one gig with it and it smoked! Even the guys in the band couldn't believe the tone. My first MusicMan by the way going from a Carvin 6 that I've had for over 10 years. I'll put some pics up soon.

I'm pretty sure that it's called the "standard" neck with rosewood fretboard. I honestly like the look of the Birdseye better but this neck just felt so smooth and fast that I couldn't resist. Plus I'm going from a 6-string back to a 4 so it felt sooo comfortable...

Well,

After literally about a day's worth of detective-work, I found one!

It started off by calling EBMM and asking for an update on the classic series, as I was told at NAMM that they weren't going to release the natural config as part of the main line of classics... Possibly in the future... But it turned out that they did release about 15 of the classics in the configuration I was looking for: Natural 4-string, 2EQ, Maple Neck & Fretboard and black pickguard (a la Louis Johnson, Bernard Edwards and Paul S. Denman). Thanks to the very helpful staff at GC Murrieta, I located one in La Mesa, CA. Well, luckily I was off yesterday and today and that just meant ROAD-TRIP TIME!!!

After an hour and a half's drive down to La Mesa, I was there... Everything was still in the box!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHooooo Hoooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!

The salesperson hadn't even opened the box and placed it on display yet. In fact, he was supposed to do that all day yesterday. Not this one, I'll take that, thanks.
:D

GC Murrieta are great folks. They still have a ivory white Classic there. That one has a KILLER neck.

Here's mine again

Ok, I won't post that anymore. Just this instead :D

AAAARRRGGGGG!!!! *Bashing head against the wall*

Please stop the torture! I can't take it anymore.
*talks to self* Ok, clam down... rationalize... I've got a shed to build in the back yard.. vacation to pay for.. the credit card bill from purchasing the RH450 gets in next weak... Simply dont do it... If the wife finds out she will kill me... But maybe I can hide it for a few months in the band room... No Stop!

Oh pleeeaaasseee make it stop :D

The Story here is that we made this for the Dallas Guitar Show in a partnership with GC and we ran a few extra that went out to the stores. So, anyone interested could call a guy named Robbie at the Dallas GC. He is a pro and knows the bass and where to find the few remaining . The store number is 972 960 0011.
Hope this helps.

I called Robbie and he is working to find the right Classic for me...The Natural was a bit too heavy for me. I have a degenerative bone disease in my back and just can not handle more than about 9 lbs or so. Robbie was straight up and cool with me. I HIGHLY recommend you give him a call on these. HE has a BUNCH of them in stock at the Dallas store. He is a real Pro and it shows in his customer service! Thanks for everything Robbie!

Peace,

T
