nope, the Axis Super Sport is....

...this is coming from a long time EVH and 2 year Axis SS owner.

I may modify this statement upon getting a Reflex (or 25th) ;)

The Axis and the Axis Super Sport belong in any discussion regarding essential modern day instruments...it's such a wonderful versatile guitar and deserves all the praise it gets!

MM stuff

I came from playing $9000.00 Gibsons and $5000.00 PRS guitars and now have 4 Music man guitars.
I find that Music Man guitars are of the HIGHEST Quality and sound great.
And the feel of the necks is just the best.
The Customer service is GREAT true Old school.
This forum is also the best! I have found MY guitar for life.
Thank You

Ex-Dean, Ex-Kramer, Almost Ex-Gibson....They(other guitar manufacturers) just don't make guitars like the EBMM anymore, not for <$3K anyways. The neck is so unique and comfortable, the pickups incredibly versatile, and the quality outstanding. I normally never buy/own more than one guitar in the same style. My Axis/ASS pair is the first, that says a lot about their appeal to me. This forum is very cool, too.

$9000 Gibson, is that crazy or what? So overpriced.....

$9000 Gibson and $5000 PRS

You seem to have that backwards.

Gibs and PRS

The Gibson that I last owned was a Historic Reissue flametop, it was as nice as any Gibson gets and was ok.
I teach at a PRS dealer and get really good deals on their guitars.
I still enjoy the PRS stuff but am lovin the Music Man Guitars.
Cheers

I got my first Axis a couple weeks ago and Fed-Ex is on its way right now to pick up my Les Paul Axcess, which was more than twice the price, and take it to a new home. Nice guitar but the Axis really blows it away in terms of feel, fun and tone. The MM's are a tremendous value for the money in my opinion.

Is the Axis guitar just the BEST FREAKIN GUITAR or what?

I couldn't agree with you more Trent, I would say Axis/ASS are. I'm a huge fan as you can see with my sig. Although, you should also check out the HH AL. I was a total Axis/ASS guy and in January of this year, the HH AL opened my eyes to other tonal possibilities. The combo of the all RW neck (a little beefier than the Axis neck but not by a lot) with mahogany body and the hot Axis pickups is just amazing!

I feel the same way about my Silo Special, 20th Silo and incoming LUKE :D.

RW board and mahogany body....that must sound a bit dark, eh? What do you play through?

Not dark at all, very warm and clear tone, even when unplugged (to me anyway) and not as bright of course as a maple neck/board with basswood or ash. Overall, it just sounds great no matter what type of music you play with it. Here's my guitar rig(s):
Line 6 Flextone II HD Head going into a custom made slanted 4 x 12 cabinet with Celestion Vintage 30's, Crate Stealth 50 Lee Jackson (all tube!) combo with 1 x 12 Celestion Vintage 30.

I also just came over from PRS-land. I've been playing PRS since '04 and have bought and sold about 20 of them (have one now, a Hiland). I just got an Albert Lee HH last week and I can't put it down. Great guitar! I'm thinking of selling the PRS now.
