Just picked this up for a ridiculous price from GC. I believe it's Pearl Blue (correct me if I'm wrong) and plays like a dream. The 7.5lb. weight was a big plus too! :D

Thanks everyone! I had to double check the weight when I got home. Sure thing. 7.5 lbs. I'm psyched. :D Been looking for a lightweight Sterling for some time now and this one just happened to show up at my local GC.

Nice. K.I.S.S. combo that fits anywhere short of a Death Metal concert.

K.I.S.S. ? As in Keep It Simple Stupid? :D

Anybody got ideas for other pickguards for this bass? Not sure what would look good on it. I like the black, but just wondering if there are other options that look good.

Congrats!

I love my 4H Sterling. Love my Bongo as well. Some suggested I would only play the Bongo after I got it. Not so...the Sterling 4H is a Rock Monster.

Excellent choice Eaglemoon!

Thanks for the pickguard suggestions. I do love the way it looks now, but I'm always liking to change things up once in a while. :D

I have a Stingray in the same colour. I was thinking that abalone would be a great pickguard that would go well when the time is right.

Oh hey, you're right. I forgot about abalone. I used to have one on a jazz bass and it looked great. Not this same color, but I can see how it would look nice.

There'll be enough contrast to look nice, but the blue in the pickguard will pick up and match the bass.

I really like Pearl Blue; it's such a blue chameleon. Sometimes it seems dark, sometimes it sparkles, but it always looks good!
