Is it normal for UPS to not update their travel information on ground shipments after the first departure? Or do they just make one poor schmuck drive all the way across the country to deliver it?

Apparently, the truck left Hartford CT a few days ago and was not heard from since. If my guitar is stuck in some burning wreckage off the road in Kansas, I am going to be pissed.
