Question My EB 5 Looses It's Ball's

I have changed strings, cleaned the battery contacts, I even got behind the contacts, and pushed them up a little to make better contact with the battery. Whats happing is everything seems OK then the sound gets thin like there is no Bass tone I have to turn up the bass knob all they way up to get any bass tone and even that doesn't give me that Ballsy tone that Music Man gives, I'm thinking it is the pick up or could it be the Preamp? PS It dozen,t do it all the time you,ll be playing everything is fine then all of a sudden it sounds if someone walked up and turned the Bass knob all the way off. Thanks.

Have you tried using a different lead ?
Had a similar thing happen to me before, the lead Seamed to be working just fine but every now and then it would cut out slightly, still leaving a connection between the bass and the amp but would suck out all of the tone. (if you disconnected it and tapped it on your hand there was a signal).
Changed leads and problem solved.

You didn't say whether you tried another battery. Even if you put a new one in; there are cases of bad new batteries.

I tried different Cord's, Batt., amps ,strings.If it would stay with that thin sound i could probably trace it down butt it don;t do it all the time.Thanks for the idea,s I will call there tech service tomorrow.

Maybe it has something to do with your appalling spelling and grammar?

Sorry...but definitely contact CS, they are literally amazing.

I tried diff. rig's diff. Bass, It's definitely the EB. also it doesn't matter where the pick up selector is.

I talked to the Tech today he thinks it could be the preamp or the bass pot. He said I should send it in, but I think I will take it apart and see if there might be a bad connection, If not I will order the preamp It's only $95.00.Thanks for the responses.
