Y'know, if we're talking desert island here, I think I'd have to go with the classic Stingray.

Because, you know, I want to get back to where the gigs are.

My 5-string fretted Bongo with two humbuckers and piezo bridge. It's my main bass and I love it to death. I think ANY EBMM bass is an ultra-high quality instrument that can easily bring a smile to any player's face, but the Bongo is the only one with a 24-fret fingerboard and that's very important to me, specially if we're talking about owning just one instrument.

If I had to choose from the basses I currently own, and thank God I don't have to, I believe it would be my Big Al SSS 4 Dargie II.

Probably the same choice if I had my pick of all basses.

Well this is easy... I only have one EBMM and its a 25th. Its all I "need".

"want" is a different story :)

Same here, I have only one, my 25th 5HH. I don't think I would give it up for any other:D I do see a 5 string Bongo in my future though:p

You know, if we are on a desert island, presumably there are no 9v batteries around. So, we might have to go with Big Al or 25th since they have passive modes that don't require a battery. Just sayin'....

Hmmm..if you were on a desert island there probably wouldn't be any electricity so an amp (assuming you had one on the island) would be useless anyway.

Just sayin'... ;)

that works too!

I think this thread is not about imaginary instruments but existing ones by people who have actually owned them. Which makes it much more interesting than all those "look what I can think up" parties, because it gives new perpectives on practical use... e.g. I'd never have thought to see the 30th SR mentioned so many times, esp compared to the Bongo or the 25th.

For the sake of argument, let's say you could only have 1 Music Man bass to play for ever. Which one do you choose and why? It can be a current bass that you already have, one you used to have or one you would like to have.
.

Just going by what the OP said....and yes I would like to have the one i mentioned lol

Well, soon I will have my dream bass that I mentioned. I put a down payment on a Bongo 4 HH Dargie Delight II at Bass Central. I have 2 guitars that I am selling on e-bay and as soon as they sell, the Bongo is coming home!

Then I can also finally make a post in the Bongo Head thread. (I was a poet and didn't even know it.)
