Is the neck pickup on an Axis supposed to be level with the strings? Mine is tipped back in the cutout such that it's not level (the bridge pickup is perfectly level with the strings).

What about the relative volume levels between the pickups? The bridge pickup is much closer to the strings, so when switching pickups there is a fairly large volume change.

Just one question. Is there a reason you can't adjust it to your liking...?

It's hard mounted to the body, but you could shim it if you want it closer.

I'd give customer service a call about it. It's hard to diagnose a problem with just a picture.

The Axis pickups have zero adjustability... they are hard mounted to the body with a couple of screws. Much easier to adjust Strat pickups :)

Mine was the same way when I bought it second hand. I sent my guitar back to the factory and they dremeled the "ear" to get it level. Curious...when was your guitar built?

it looks right to me. the pickup is level with the body. the strings angle up towards the bridge. the pickup would look funny if it matched the strings angle. it would look tilted to me.

i see nothing wrong. if it sounds fine, plays fine then your probably good to go.

Looks like there is dust on one side of the pickup weighing it down. My JP6 has the pickups aligned to the body and it plays like a dream. Plug in your Axis, turn up the amp and play that sweet geeter!!

Mine is exactly the same. I adjusted the pole screws to bring them a little closer to the strings... no Dremel Tool needed, just a small screwdriver.

Actually, it's not... it may look like that in the photo, but the pickup is definitely tipped back in the cavity. The mounting ears of the pickup do not sit level at the bottom. Yes, the string angle accounts for some of the error, but maybe only half. The bridge pickup sits perfectly straight and the strings are level to the pickup.
