Hi this is a suggestion to the makers of the fine sounding music man basses - As I was just looking through all you bass designs I noticed the Stingray 5 body style looks amazing , it has the contours and cut outs along the body/beveled edges - I found this to be the most attractive of all your bass body styles , very modern but still classic looking . I noticed your 4 string version does not have the same contours - Will you be doing such a thing in the future or are you able to build a 4 string body with the same contours as the 5 if specially ordered ?. It's highly unlikely that the SR5 body style will come out in a 4-string version. That's just MHO, but I'm very confident that it's not going to happen.
Also, EBMM does not do custom work, period, unless you're a major recording artist. And even then what you're going to get is a unique finish, not some unique body style.
Sorry....
I suppose you could buy a Sterling or Stingray and have a luthier make a custom body and pickguard for it.... a lot of trouble for some beveled edges.

I think the Ray 5 plate is what makes it a Ray 5; its great. Whereas the Ray 4 plate suits the Ray 4 best

The high dollar one you're thinking about is the blue one, I believe, of which only a few were made and are quite striking. Sometimes I think my SR5 is the Holy Grail of SR5s, but then I remember those blue beasts.
Mine's still pretty nice, though, don't you think?

This was the first bass Dudley and I did. We were sort of taking over where Leo left off....but not really. We intentionally modeled it after the Silo because that was our work. We wanted to sort of make a statement and not just slap an extra string on the stingray and move on. This was a ground up instrument and we have taken heat from people all the time over our choice. It has not stopped it from being the number one selling USA 5 string......WE gave the people what they wanted in the sub 5 and the new classic series but actually the SR5 continues to sell very well and is an established classic of its own... It worked out

Mine is still my favourite, there are countless hours of sweath and dna that has passed from my body to my stingray 5 neck and with A Bongo, a 25th and soon a BA5SSS it will still be treated as my first born child.
And every time I looked at it I still find it as sexy as my first date!

BP - Your design and overall concept of the Ray 5, and its massive following, led me to realise I had to try one for my first 'real' 5 string, and it was great straight away. I like the fact its different from the Ray 4. I also 'knew' it would be right when I was a much younger player; I saw one in a store and knew it would work out to be the one.
Its took me a long time to realise I wanted to go for 5 strings, but Im glad I did with EBMM. Just got to wait now for the colour to come in stock. Then Ill probably order a Ray 4 as well again as I miss the ones I sold for the two new EBMMs.
