First, all the BFR's are eye candy and almost impossible to choose between on looks. I have narrowed my choice to the JP6 BFR Koa and the JP6 BFR Quilted Tobacco Maple and have saved up to purchase either.
My concern now is overall tone. I have listened to some YouTube videos comparing the two, I can hear differences. I am looking for a guitar that is versatile and has a broad range of tones - from brighter tones of the 60's to Hair Metal to Dream Theatre. I am guessing the Koa/Mahogany has a more Gibson tone.
I do not have access locally to compare.
Advise?
I don't see that JP uses a Koa.
