Hi all,

Been a while since I've logged on round here, but it's been one hell of a year for me. basically my business collapsed completely out of the blue in spectaular fashion last August and it has taken me until now to see the light.
During that time I have had to sell off most of my non-essentials (including my three EBMM's) just to put some food on the table for the kids. It was gut wrenching, but at the end of the day my family come first and however pretty my Rays were, they were a Godsend due to their 'move-on' value. I still have a couple of basses lying about, but nothing from SLO unfortunately.
However, there is some light.... I have sold the business premises (it was a fight with the bank to hold on to it so that I could sell and walk away with some pride!!) and the first thing I'm doing when the cash is released from the solicitors is walking straight into my nearest EBMM dealer and placing an order for a Classic.... or maybe a Reflex... or a Big Al.... damn this EBMM GAS!!!!!!

Anyway.... it's good to be back and as soon as I'm sorted, I'll post up some pics.

No matter how bad things get, there's always the MM cure!

Hopefully the worst is behind you and you can move on to better times, with the help of MM of course.

Sorry to hear about your hard times. You did the right thing though. Family is more important than possessions. When you get the new bass, you will be loving it and it will be very rewarding for you.

What everybody said. Great to see you survived.

My old employer collapsed out of the blue this February. With all the pending salary payments, that was no fun either. We are currently trying to resurrect some of the old projects and keep developing the software. This will be a rough year. So, from the bottom of my heart I wish you all the best for your future business plans.

Oh, and have fun with your new Ball. Choose wisely. But you know "it won't be the only one". ;)

Thanks guys for all your kind posts.
Jees, it was tough when it happened.... coupled with the fact that I was out of the country at the time and had no way of getting back to attempt to rectify the situation (without going into too much detail, my ability to earn income was 'illegally' restricted and all clients were removed that day..... NO warning and no chance to challenge without huge solicitor bills).
Anyway.... I've had enough of the current profession and when the sale of the property has concluded I am buying a house with a shop and a huge two storey flint barn. Hoping to open a music shop with a recording studio.
Of course, I'll be stocking EB's!!

Best of luck to you. When I got married and had my second child who was born with some health problems, I had to sell off almost all of my gear. The one thing I was able to hold on to was my Sterling and a Gorilla 15 watt practice amp.. Whatever Music Man you emerge with will be even more prized, I bet you. Take your time, pick what you want, and never look back. Ignore the I shoulda picked a ______ gas. :)

Your thread title is incorrect, you have iron balls - big ups to you for putting family first!

No doubt, I'm sorry you lost your business but, you seem like the type of guy that will be right back in it again. Karma will be on your side and repay you in many wonderful ways. Good luck!

And glad to see you around, don't be a stranger!
