Hi Guys a noob here from Australia. love my EBMM evh's and axis's. and have a question for more experienced EVH owners.

One of my EVH,s has a black sustain block and trem posts with smaller 3mm hex key adjustment in the top.

The other has a brass sustain block (same as the axis) and the larger hex trem posts (same as the axis)

The floyds are the same in that the intonation holes are both the evh style in line, not off set.
Both are genuine EVH guitars.

Did EB change the sustain blocks or has someone messed with one of my guitars. Both were bought second hand.....help!

The older ones (your blue) had the offset screws ..later models have the straight screws like the current axis production.

The black tremolo block is the Steel block that was originally used in EVH guitars. This was changed to Brass pretty early in EVH production history.

The tremolo pivot screws were originally designed with the 3mm socket, but there were issues with the socket/wrenches getting rounded (essentially stripping) so they were changed to a 4mm socket.

If I can determine dates for these changes, I will post an update.

Sure will let you know. Apparently , according to the reviews the brass is better on "thinner" sounding guitars, I would put the MM axis in this category. so Im going with the brass gotoh replacement for that. Where as I have a Custom Mahogany axis body and I'll try the titanium on it and the Frankenstein replica.
