Cant find it in the pre-EB numbers either. I guess I have the stumper....Is there any other was to find the info?

The "B0xxxxx" serials were used on both Pre-EB and early EB Basses. In each case official records don't exist for these particular serials.

A Pre-EB Bass will have the string retainer on the D&G strings and has three position markers past the 12th fret. An EB Bass will have the retainer on the A&D and has four markers past the 12th fret. Pre-EB Basses have slab bodies with no contours where as EB Basses are contoured on the back.

With both Pre-EB and EB Basses you will find dates recorded on the neck heel and in the neck pocket on the body. The neck has to be removed to view them

If you don't wish to remove the neck you can get an approx date by comparing your serial with others I have on my website (see link under my sign off below).

Hi! I found a Stingray for sale that I'm interested in, serial no B027613. Color is red and it's fretted, but originally fretless according to seller. Would be great if this could be confirmed, with date of birth too!
Thanks,
Klas

edit: no need to check this for me, I was too slow, the bass is already sold :(

Hello to all Musicman happy owners.

I am from Concepción, Chile and i want to add my Stingray 5 to the database.
Is a Black body with White Perloid pickguard. Rosewood fretboard no matching headstock. Single H pickup. Serial number: E59682.
I don't know the year of production but maybe 2007 or 2008.
Can i know something more about my bass here?

Best Regards from the city near the last big earthquake in the world!!

Bye

Just having an ask to see if you could tell me the correct name for the colour of my Stingray, Being told it either Tobacco Burst or is it Vintage Sunburst (I'm thinking its Tobacco Burst but could be something completely different) so please correct me if wrong.
E47406 DOB- 31/5/05 (well that was the DOB i was given when i put the number through here before)

Thanks in advance an all the best.

Hi Dan,

The color on this one is officially Vintage Sunburst. It has more of a 3 color burst with some red in it which the Tobacco does not have.

SLO Special...

My Bass is a Stingray SLO Special HH, Black Cherry Burst, Ash body, Ebony Fretboard with white pearl/abalone inlays. It reads "Custom Made" on the neck plate. Is this because of the finish, fretboard and/or inlays or because of the SLO special neck? I bought this in December 2009 at the Guitar Center in Hollywood, CA. Just wondering if there is any additional info on this Bass. Thanks!

Hi Bob - This model was a special one that we did just for Guitar Center's Anniversary. The ebony fretboard and special inlays are not options that are available to order otherwise.
Can I please get DOB and shipping destination for the following:

F27280 DOB: 2/26/10 Shipped to Perfect Bass
(can you also conform body wood as Mahogany, please?) This one is most likely African Mahogany

E17816 DOB: 9/27/00 Shipped to Guitar Center in New Orleans, LA

Thank you!!!
