Do you hate the tort on your 20th?

That's not really tort... and I'm a sucker for quilt, so that sort of equals the tortish pickguard... but the truth is, the 20th is not my favorite SR from the looks...

Back on topic: Neither the burst finish on the Big Al, nor tort do it for me, but Jack's Big Al looks GOOD, even to the point to get me gassing!! :D

Burst and Tort is a little too classic 7-like to me on the Big Al, but it does look very right. I'd like to see Ice Blue or some sort of green...or trans gold?

That's smokin' right there, love the combination of a new body shape and a classic finish with a Tort guard. Outstanding sir.

I think burst looks great on the BA, especially over the mahogany, but my favorite pg with it is black, a la Ed's review. That just looks tough.

Great question. How can this be?

I should think it's well known by now that I actually use TI flats...and have for a very long time.

But here's the thing. I have used them for well over a decade so I tend to have them stashed here and there.

Given the opportunity, I would switch them all out for Group III Ernie Ball Flats.

Truth.

I believe you Jack. (any really we have never even met)

If I remember correctly they were a pretty big rage among the flat users back in the pit days ages ago. I bought a P bass from a pitter wearing them and I had both my Rays strung with them at one time. They sound great but the tension is just a little to light for me. The Rays now wear group III flats and the P wears DR flats.
