The guitar players (especially Adrian Smith) are great,...

That's interesting, I actually felt that Dave Murry was BY FAR the best guitarist on the stage. He was blazing fast, smooth as glass, tasteful, and very creative. Funny how different people pick up on different things.

The one negative thing was all the impromptu fires in the lawn section. I 'warned' my wife about it on the way to the show (I know if I told her ahead of time she would have backed out). The fires itself don't really bother me that much - it adds a little bit of excitement and danger ;), but the smell of burning plastic is something I can really do without.

If you're referring to the "fires" that were going on around me much closer to the front, it indeed did get rather annoying. The people behind us ended up getting kicked out... they were annoying everyone around them. Once they dropped their joint and slammed into the back of one of my friends... they could barely stand. Next thing I know, the whole row is cleared out. lol

Well I just got home from the MAIDEN/DREAM THEATER concert and what I can say is it was great. The sound for Dream Theater was better than Maiden though. Mike Porntoy Did a autograph signing at my buds music store at 3pm, but man the line up was long. No musicmans were played by Maiden. Alot of strats and an SG.

I Saw the silver BFR, a mystic dream and an stealth played by John. I took a bunch of pics with my phone which all turned out lousy.

All in all it was a great night of rock.

One of the big strength of Iron Maiden is the complementarity between Adrian Smith and Dave Murray. Dave plays very fast and very smoothly with a lot of improvisation. On the other hand, the solos of Adrian are more rhythmic and composed.
During the 80's, a lot of people was thinking that Dave Murray was the lead guitarist and Adrian Smith the rhythm guitarist. It's funny because on the classic Maiden albums, Adrian plays more solos than Dave.

Ha Ha. No. I am referring to the actual FIRES these illiterate morons light in the lawn section. They set cups, shirts and stuff on fire and dance around it like it was Lord of the Flies. It's kind of funny, until they throw plastic on the fire. The fumes are what kind of get to me.

He also incorrectly referenced "A NightMARE to Remember" ('A night to remember') and I don't know about that being only their second outdoor show in So. Cal because I saw them at the Greek last summer and that was outdoors. I'm sure over the last 10+ years or so they've done more than just those outdoors.

Yep. I've seen DT a few times in San Diego (at Humphries Concert by the Bay) during the Turbulence tour and once when they toured with Satch. I think they I saw them there one other time. Great shows. Ive seen them 6 times and those were two of the best.
