Hey guys, it's been a while since i've been on here. I just have a quick question that I can't seem to figure out the answer to.

I know it's hard to diagnose problems without actually having the guitar in front of you, but I would just like to ask for some opinions. The guitar is JP6 standard (not BFR), and for some reason, every time new strings get put on, after playing for a few hours the A or D string breaks right at the bridge. This has happened about 4 times now, and there had never been a problem with it before.

Can anyone give me their input as to what they think might be wrong?

Thanks!

It's really hard to say from here. When strings break at a contact point it can often be a burr, etc. in the saddle or at some point the string is contacting.

I'd see if you can work out whether there's a rough point. Armed with that info, try giving the customer service folks a call and they can help you out.

Okay, "armchair mod" comment removed.

Since we're on the subject ... there are more O/T threads these days to discuss all kinds of topics. There's more to the forum than just NGD threads.

This place is what you make it man. Cheer up, it's just the Internet, not real life.

I agree with Jason, don't be that sensitive azazael and let the people express themselves, cause in that case we may ask you why you keep on posting acoustic tune on the EBMM forum :D

Express themselves?
I was only going by what BP posted 2 days ago...
Are you implying BP's rules don't work in the real internet world??

Fine consider my thread closed.

Honestly could not give a frack about what people buy... Mr. Hitler with the one ball.

Although I would not be as jealous as you would be if someone was to post a "New Spell Checker Day". Although I can't decide whether its spelling or grammar you need the most.

hey guys I have already contacted customer service about my string breakage, I've been breaking everything but I think the b on my luke. I adjusted the bridge angle (after I called and tried to fix some fret buzz) I called again asking about the breaking problem we went through some options and the bridge angle was brought up in conversation. They mentioned I may have moved it too steep so I adjusted it. It seemed to help I made it through a rehearsal and some other playing about a week then first chunk chord tonight and snap a string goes right on the bridge in the same spot!!! Customer service had mentioned sending it in to get everything checked out (fret buzz etc previous guy changed the factory set up) but i think I can get it before it comes to that because nothing broke that bad until I messed with the set up trying to fix the fret buzz? any Ideas this is the last attempt before I send it in.

So after some talking with people and CS, I'm just going to end up buying some new saddles for the guitar. This should fix the problem.

Ah, new saddles. Done that myself on occasion. Glad you got sorted out.

Jake- the EBMM guys know their stuff, so I don't know that there's much I can add, expect to say their work is exception and not expensive. I've sent guitars in for fretwork, etc. and always been more than satisfied. If you sent it in you'll get it back like new. A pain to be w/o the guitar ... but you'll be happy when it's all done.

As for all the other comments here- guys, let's all just relax a bit and have fun. The goal here was to help a member out with string breakage, and I think we've done that.
