I bought a set of nickle EBMM straplocks because the Schallers were a pain to get on and off my 25th. I love the new locks but one of them does not feel secure. When in the locked position it feels like one of the balls is not locking. With any pressure on the strap on the neck side it angles and when you push in on it it clicks. If I reverse the strap then its at the other end so something is not right. It has been making me real nervous. What bothers me more is an email form sent to them has not responded to. I'm going to have to switch back to the Schallers until someone tells me whats going on. I just think it's defective.:(

Use the phone...

Coachella Office - Ernie Ball
Phone - 1-800-543-2255

That's the general number.

As far as I know, technically the Customer Service phone number is for Music Man, not EB, but they've got a really great reputation for being helpful.

Not to be a kiss-a** or anything, but I bought my 3rd set of EB strap locks just yesterday. I love them and I just feel soooooooo much more comfortable playing with them. I hate having to worry about the strap slipping off the post and having to catch my guitar while trying to play - it happens. I put them on both my Silhouettes and just put the new one on my Albert Lee.

Busy time in the music biz. NAMM, Crossroads, everyone has been super occupied. Where did you buy the straplocks?
Even with NAMM and everything else going on the EBMM Customer Service team(and repair techs)are still on top of their game. I recently had an issue with a used bass I bought from Ebay. They had it fixed and back to me within a week and it plays/ sounds better than ever. Thanks!

Can I ask a noob question?!

Do you have to make any kind of changes to the stock EBMM screws to use these locks? Eg, do I have to unscrew one to put another in? Or....do these fit on the strap itself?

If its the strap itself, I think im going to get a set so I can rotate it between my incoming BALLS :p

There is a part that fits onto your strap an need to change (swap over) the strap buttons on the bass for the buttons that come with the locks, quick easy 2min job, (if that was what you were asking) got them on both my Rays an trust them 100%.

I just purchased some Ernie Ball Strap Locks last month and placed them on my Sterling. It was a piece of cake job that took maybe 5 minutes for everything. I feel much better playing the bass as a result.

Thanks BP, Scott said it would take about a week for me to get them, and I have to ship the others back. Please understand I will ship them the least expensive way :)
