I just saw on Premier Guitar that Ernie Ball came out with a new gig bag that has a 2 Channel Marshall Amp built right in. I am assuming it is battery operated. Sounds perfect for taking your guitar to a party etc.. Sounded pretty decent too.

Wow - just got the same email from Premier. I guess I have to start watching the main Ernie Ball page more closely for new announcements!

Really? The sound on their video was awful for some unknown reason.

Bro it's a video at a trade show... the video and audio quality isn't going to be Studio quality.

I thought the video was sufficient for the setting.

I feel sorry for the guy that uses this in a studio:D

What i was saying...

azazael had said that it sounded awful... i was just saying that it was done on the spot with a camera at a trade show... the amp itself was not properly miced and thus a poor audio quality. I wouldn't use this in a studio (as i don't think that's it's intent) however; i would use this if some friends and i went to a park or BBQ where i knew we would jam and didn't want to the hastle of taking all of my gear.

Another big perk to this particular product (target audience if you will) could be the high school student taking music classes and you can now bring along your amp to play in class. I think the product is briliant and BP wouldn't put his name on it if it wasn't a class act... so lets get them in our hands and test them out... it's really the only way to know the product.

:)

and welcome aboard Wolf... this is a great forum filled with people passionate about EBMM and their guitars...

Exactly i believe the intention of this thing is you can just throw your guitar in a bag and take it with you to a party/park/beach etc... and have a amp already built in. Convenience and fun factor comes first sound is secondary.

Pete Dubaldo is this thing going to run on AC and/or batteries?

Probably will run on both, and over the years I have owned quite a few items like this that are great in a pinch for the reasons described. But I would not have great expectations about being blown away by sound quality.

Come on boys....it looks like a really cool idea for playing guitar "on the move".....I doubt it will take the place of your recording studio software or your Boogie stack.....but let's not bitch before we get chance to try one out

I've watched a ton of premier guitar videos from namm over the years and that video was the worst audio ive heard (production) thats what i was saying.

As for sound quality of the amp itself. Of course its gonna sound crap really its just plastic and tiny speakers and totally solid state. It is basically one of those little mini Marshall novelty stacks in a bag.

It sounded to me like Derek was playing outta key to the backing track?
Sounded like the tone control was either off or nearly off as well on the AL.

Nice, you managed to slag PG, EBMM, Marshall and Derek in a single post.

Like my momma used to say ... if you don't have anything nice to say keep it shut. Seriously- I'm getting tired of the attitude.

Guys I watched the Video too... and while it was fun to make I was off key with the tune. Its a great bag and if you plug an I-pod in you should watch the input volume to achieve the proper balance between the guitar signal and what your listening/playing with. With all the ambient noise from the show it was hard to tell what I was playing ha...ha

The tone is cool to practice with and is worth a go if you need a great convenient setup...I am planning on getting one to take camping up in the mountains this fall....Enjoy
