It was a blast!! Jamie ripped through some tracks from his new album and talked us through his gear. His battered old Supersport sounded the business and the Blackstar amps blew us all away.

Had the opportunity to chat to Jamie and it was great to meet him - lovely bloke.

Sadly not as big an audience as Jamie is used to, but a really good night. Will post some pics later.

Is that the 5 or 20 watt? I have the 5 and it's awesome for home. I considered the 20 recently. but I just couldn't justify it since I don't play out at the moment.

You are too Kind matey!!...You made my evening..and Drew's...was so great to meet you too...yes it was a small audience compared to what I normally play too, I dont think the store put too much into it, which was apparent with the organisation on the night...the PA sucked!!...we normally use our own Bose system..I can hear my tracks without needing monitors...I couldnt hear a thing..playing a Dream Theatre cover when you cant hear the backing track is pretty tricky!!...The amps sound great...and yes..I use the 5 watt..alot!!...I just got back from another clinic, which was more of an educational clinic, but still Blackstar sponsored...they had HT 100 heads there, but I still requested an HT5, and ran it into a 4 12 cab..I love the fact i can crank the amp, and not drown out the monitors...that amp really is amazing..and yes..my old Supersport...its certainly has some battles scars!!...Not much finish left on the back, and I am even wearing througt the lacker on the top!!...Its funny, but that guitar is getting pretty famous now due to the DVDs..I had a guy come up to me in Germany, and asked to have his picture taken with it!!...yea..post some pics of the night...I had a great time..yourself and the others who were there were so kind, and into it...Jamie

Very kind of of you Jamie. Pics below, I think they came out ok!!
Forgot to mention that I also picked up a copy of "J", really cool CD. Ceremony is my favourite, the crappy Youtube sound quality does it no justice.

The photos are great!!...any chance of getting the full size file Richard?...And yes my fingerboard is pretty worn..I have had comments on youtube from people saying " clean your fretboard"!!...it is clean....my guitars are my pride and joy...I love looking at my racks of EBMM's....but that fingerboard isnt dirty..its worn..I have gigged that guitar for the last 11 years 3 times a week...I teach on it constantly, record 90% of my Guitar Techniques and Lick Library stuff with it, have done Top 40 sessions on it, all my book/CD packages I have out were done with it..plus its been around the world on clinic tours and on full blown tours...Thius guitar was also used on the soundtrack for 60 episodes of an animated series on BBC1, where the the characters battle with their guitars...This was the main guitar I used for the enemy, a John 5 look a like!!...I have worn alot of the finish back to the wood on the back..it look reliced!!...You will also be able to see me play that very guitar on the DVD that comes with the next issues of Young guitar Magazine..I was lucky enough to be asked to do a Young Guitar session when I was in Japan 2 months ago..that was such an honour!!...the guys at the Mag loved the guitar...all its war wounds, plus the mods I have done with different pickups...This Guitar is my work horse...i would be lost without it...I have lots of Musicman guitars, around 16....I have 7 Axis, including one original EVH...custom Silos, Petrucci's, and Albert Lee, plus my DFR double neck...but 9 times out of 10 I reach for this guitar...it really is the best guitar in the world to me..there are no other guitars like Musicman Gutars!!! Would love to see a clinic by you Jamie! Any plans on coming over the pond to NYC? hehehe Love your playing and your tone as well as your compositions. Where can I purchase your album J by the way?

Also regarding the Blackstar amps, they really do rock. I tried out the Venue Series Club 40 the other day and it is absolutely amazing for the price range. Really versetile and sounds great at all volumes. The quality of it looks real tight as well for a Korean made amp. I think I will be getting one of these :).

Beware !!!!!!!!
Last time I watched a video from Jamie, I bought a HT-5H (and after that a HT-DUAL in order to find the same sound with my big amps). It can become expansive at the end ;)

You got that gear after watching one of my videos?...which one?...I do like the tones I get, but look at the gear, Musicman guitars, Ernie Ball strings, Blackstar amps, DiMarzio pickups....I am kinda blessed when it come to endorsements...I still pintch myself!!...I feel privilaged!!

As for clinics..there was talk of scotland, so i'll keep you posted...I dont have anything for the US...would love to...but I dont think I am worthy to be bought over to be honest...I dont think I would pull and audience....plus, look who EBMM have, Petrucci, and Morse...LOL...so I could not see that happening..I would love it though...saying that, there was interest for a clinic tour of Canada...so you never know.,..

If you are interested in my album...you can get a CD from J Jamie Humphries CD
or J - Coming Soon! its on itunes, but i'll have to locate the link...try typing in J Fubar, youll find it then....

As I'm plugging my album, may as well go all the way lol...dont forget, if you are interested, I do offer 1-2-1 guitar lessons over Skype..drop me a line at [email protected] Jamie Humphries

Hello Jamie
I watched several of your videos but Ceremony made me buy the HT-5H.
You have an impressing list of endorsements, but you deserve it :)

wow!!...thats really cool!!...I still et blown away when I hear from people who ave bought the gear I use...I have been getting a lot of emails from players lately who either bought an Axis, a Silo Special, or an HT5 or other Blackstar products..or both!!......when I was away with one of the guys from Blackstar last week he told me that they have been getting comments and emails from people who use an EBMM Axis and an HT5...I think its the perfect partnership!!, its seems they go hand in hand!!...And that a really nice thing for you to say...I dunno if I deserve it..i think I have just been lucky....I have said it before, when I was a teenager, i would stand out side one of the shops in Denmark street every friday night, when me and my friends use to go into London and watch bands at the old Marquee club...I would stare at the display of about 10 EBMM EVH models in the window...I never thought I would own one...and then a few years later I signed a contract..it still to this day blows me away!!...Stirling, Derek, Dudley, and everyone at EBMM usa, and Strings and Things in the UK, treat me so so well...I feel like the guys really listen to my requests, and ideas, and really take an interest when one of my new products like a Lick Library DVD comes out....i couldnt imagine being with another guitar company, or playing another guitar...being an endorsee of EBMM is like being part o a huge family!!....
