Is it at all possible to have a SSS Silhouette made without a Pickguard?

Also I would Love a HH or a SSS AL without the Pickguard as well. I know

the tooling would all have to be changed around. But for the Silhouette

the body of the Gold Roller could be used w/ the HH config. I think the

Silhouette and the AL would look Epic as regular line guitars and save a

bit in production cost. It would be in line with the Axis, JP and Luke Guitars

I love the look of Music man Guitars minus the pickguards. Sorry if this has

been asked before....

The MM brand offers so many options ...
But you can always ask !
Personally, I like pickguards because it gives you a lot of opportunity (easy to change the pickups, easy to move the volume or the tone knobs).

Yes you should ask customer service...

but...

Why is it everyone thinks that MusicMan will manufacture custom instruments just for them? There are threads like this (some asking for serious custom work) just about every week!

It's cool that everybody is so passionate about wanting something unique. (Some of them are solid ideas. Some of them, not so much ...)

Around here you never know what the future holds.

If you read the post, It's Not a Custom job...I said regular line guitars

that would save in production costs...It's in line already with the JP, Silo

and Axis....Even the Morse with the clear pickguard would look way nice

"in my opinion" minus the pickguard

Actually it would have to be a custom job since the removal of the pick guard brings up many issues. For example, how are you going to mount the pickups? What are you going to do with the top routing of the Silo. I know you mentioned the Gold Roller, but those are minibuckers and you would have to change the routing there to ad the middle pickup and find a way to shrink the existing routes. Also, what if you wanted a trem? The GR doesn't have a trem as an option. All of that would cost BP a lot more in R&D then it would prob save him on the production line. What if you and I were the only ones who wanted a Silo like this?

I think the closest "production" guitar to what you want is the LUKE. In your case, Im assuming you are looking for passive pickups and Im thinking to get what you are looking for you would have to change the pickups from the EMGs to passive pickups... even then you have a humbucker at the bridge to deal with...

Don't get me wrong, Im not trying to rain on your parade. I think your idea would be awesome but its not as easy as we think it would be... I for one am hoping that the BFR Silo Special (coming eventually to a dealer near you) is going to have a nice maple top, no pickguard and 3 Singles as an option. That would fit your need..

as far as i remeber, this was the origin plan, but Steve Morse missed the feeling/height of the pickguard where his pinkie rests most of the time playing
