Any new bass I get has three tests to pass.

1. Play along with "Rockin' The Suburbs".

2. Play along with "Flying Cowboys" (Rickie Lee Jones).

3. Do a real gig with some losers and still make me smile.

I guess I need to learn some songs....I usually just futz and fuddle and try all the presupposed worse tone combos and usually find something cool. THe last time was with Craigs Monster truck at the NAMM show...I dont remember what I did but some knobs were off and some were dimed and not the ones you would expect..... I think one was flat...oh yeah and I forgot which way i had the switches....But I can remember a tone larger than the national debt. I cant get that tone out of my head...its replaced the voices I hear!

This Reflex is really giving me bad GAS. I think it will be the ticket for Bongo tone in a almost Stingray package.

I'm feeling a 2H though....

That's a beautiful pic of a gorgeous instrument. How's the feel and sound? How does it compare to the Big Al?

Whow, what a beauty and exactly the photo that I expected. This Gold is a must have for me! Now I just have to convince Musik Meyer and the EB stuff to build me a Reflex with Big Al neck width (1-1/2" / 38.1 mm at nut)...

Thanks a lot, Craig!!!

Ben Folds

BEN FOLDS. I have a very serious non-sexual crush on Ben Folds.

Craig, you are my coolest new imaginary friend.

I think I drunk-dialed you when we opened for Ben Folds - I think I got your mother-in-law trying to get her to listen to Jesusland.

Good times.

Thanks cats for the kind words. I've actually got a bunch of pics in this months issue of modern drummer magazine. It has an interview w Chad Cromwell and I shot all his adds and studio pics. It's my "for fun job". I do quite a bit of music industry stuff just because I'm already in it, my friends need pictures and they say... Hey camera boy... Make me look not old fat and bald. I take all that money and spend it on toys. My wife doesn't even know I own a camera haha. Kidding. Everyone knows Im just a little boy that could never score w a live chick.
As for the ben folds thinghgyy. I'm as big a fan as anyone here. I don't tour very often. I make more money staying home and doing sessions than I could going out on the road. That being said, I've been working at his studio a bunch lately, and this came up, and I was like.... Man.... I don't care if I gotta pay u, I'm in. So well see how it all lines up. B nice to have the game changer rocking the suburbs ya know. He covers a lot of ground. Definitely could put it to use on this one. Bp. Shake some lawyers upside down till one falls out then send it c.o.d. to a brother man!! Take his wallet while ur at it. Too.

Make sure you post your Ben Folds dates! I am sure a few of us on the forum wouldn't mind coming out and buying you a beer (and checking out your Reflex). JOSH
