new BFR help

Hey just got a new BFR JP6,and wondered if you could lower the pickups and also is the pickups and action set to petrucci's spec's.

Hello and welcome. PUP height is not adjustable. The PUPS were designed by Dimarzio for JP. I believe JP's action is actually set lower by his tech.

Yeah I think it's set the way JP likes it, but I read that on tour it gets set even lower, which is super ridiculously low.

You could shim them up a bit with a piece of foam or similiar under the pups themselves?

I prefer them floating for tonal reasons.

Most any "action" related change can be done on that guitar without harm or permanency.

The p/u can be raised as easliy just using small washers (or shims). Lowering the p/u however is more technical, and may afterwards require hardware to raise up.

Keep consulting, the more you know, the better off you are.
