OK, lets have a little fun:D First off the CFB did it, quit smoking:) and the new job is working out well!

Second been thinking about a black guitar for quite awhile now, as foggy would say none more black that the EBMM black. Not sure I will buy one but hey it is the CFB:p

Also been listening to alot of David Gilmour and Eric Clapton, lots of black there:)

So give me your opinions on what you would get, first this is to try and use as a DG-EC clone tone guitar and a travel guitar, not looking to spend alot, basically what I can get from MF or GC using discounts and 0% financing, so let me know what you think. Vote in the poll and/or post other ideas:p

Let the fun begin:D:eek:

Keith, if you're going for EC and DG tones, definitely a Silo Special, SSS, either a white pearl or black pearl guard.

The Silo is the least expensive but a Black SM is what you need!

Ya gotta make room so the Reflex has to go... PM me.

well, Im looking at a black Silo Spec with white pickguard and buying a black guard to swap out... giving it the David Gilmour look... why pay for the "official replica" when I can have a Ball that plays and sounds better for a lot less?

With the players you mentioned you are looking for a single coil sound with some oomph. I would go with a Silo Special with the silent circuit since 60 cycle hum has never been a friend of mine.lol Both players use a Mid Boost or and a TBX to fatten up there tone to get that creamy sound. If you go strictly with an S-S-S configuration it would be easier to color up your tonal palate with some pedals. I own a Clapton Digitech Crossroads pedal and have always liked it, as it can get you very close to a lot of EC tones pretty much on the dime. Though they do not make them anymore you can grab one on ebay for $100 or less.

Now Keith I am assuming that this is just for some indoor fun or recording and this guitar and pedal should get you close enough for that. For a little more DG tone if you have a delay pedal like a DD2 or 3 you should keep yourself busy for a long time. Have fun.

Keith,

The archives really need an all black Albert Lee!
That means it would be somewhat original.

There's lots of black in the other guitars.
