Just got off the phone with customer service and AJ I think was his name
real nice guy
just wanted to make sure that the all rosewood neck is NOT treated with oil and wax cause it seemed a bit odd to me

putting oil and wax on a rosewood board and neck is not a good idea
and AJ confirmed that it is not the way to go
wonderwipes fretboard conditioner is what to use on those necks

just Wanted to do my duty as a customer and give a heads up to BP to update the website so people don't oil and mess up those awesome necks

Killer guitar by the way

Cheers

Bought it Saturday and saw Sunday that it had a small ding on the headstock
nothing special but for an expensive guitar I might have to return it to guitar center and ABSOLUTELY have them get me another one cause I love the guitar

it's the coral Red with pearl guard
I might have them order a new one but have to try it out cause one guitar from anotheR differs a bit in tone .

And I love the tone from the one I have now

the neck on these are to simply die for
I thought my Axis neck was good
the combination of the 1 5/8 nut with the slightly wider heel than standard fender really makes the neck comfy
I thought the combintion on paper is iffy but it works great

Alright, I misspoke on this one. We actually do use the gunstock oil and wax on the back of the neck. The fretboard gets the wonder wipes. I apologize for any confusion.

The website is correct.

Oil and wax on indian rosewood? really?

AFAIK most rosewood species don't require any finish at all... see: PRS, Warmoth, and the myriad boutique luthiers who use it for necks.

Just to sate my curiosity, can anyone shed some light on the advantages (or purpose, really) of applying any kind of non-gloss finish to a solid rosewood neck?
