Hello all,

Seriously gassing after a coral red classic stingray but would like it to have a tortie pickguard and a black pickup cover - could one be bought that way or would I have to accessorise after buying with what appears to be the standard white pickguard and white pickup cover ?

From what I understand you can buy it with any PG or pup color available in the Classic line only @ extra cost. Your best bet is to contact the dealers here like member Pete Dubaldo or The Perfect Bass.

I think the shell pink was also discontinued but am not sure? I had a guy ask about mine on a different forum. According to him, he tried to order one but was told that color was also no longer available. Can anyone confirm this?

Powerful alien mastermind Dargie said early on that the colors would change every quarter or so.......

Seriously I'm so glad I got my coral red.....sounds like it will be a rare one as well. It was described as the strawberry mivvi coloured bass yesterday by someone - I guess only the UK guys will have heard of them but its basically a classic strawberry popsicle with ice cream inside - v yummy :)

Yea but shell pink was never officially available to all dealers just GC. Hopefully it will come back in rotation for those of us who get our fix through Dubaldo, TPB, BC et al.

it is so funny Mark How many times have people begged for sea foam green as a le or such....
Ironically, my two favorite colors in the classics... not to mention that they're not available left-handed anyway... but it just goes to show you how effed up my bass playing choices are and have been.

No wonder I can never find anything I like... nobody else likes it.

:D

This may sound like a silly question: will the classic series of basses only be offered in "period correct" colours (i.e. old colours that were only offered on some of the original Music Man basses)?

I didn't know that. I knew the white on white was a GC exclusive but I didn't know that about the Shell Pink.

By the way guys, the Shell Pink specimen that went to the Dallas Guitar Festival is still available & hanging on the wall at the Arvada, Colorado GC. They put a tort guard on it. The neck is sick.

Not that i can afford it if wanted to, and i really do, but do GCs ship to places. Could i call that GC in colorado and buy it on phone then ship to my house in Louisiana? Or i am being to hopeful. I think thats the only way to get the color classic i want is to go through GC even though i try to buy from tpb only.

Yes and shipping is reasonable.

I'm THRILLED I got my coral red then. It's just beautiful. About the only thing I'd prefer would be seafoam!
