Question Power Slinkys on my 30th?

While I've always used the OEM strings on my 30th, somewhere along the line I picked up a set of Power Slinkys. I'm curious if anyone has used them. And what I'm really wondering is if the guage difference affects the low E.

As a side note, I was over at a friends last night and she put Earthwood strings on her acoustic. Wow, I have to get a set of those.

tension is going to go up a noticeable bit.

my experience with power slinkys soundwise, is that things will be darker but more focused. I like 'em but you may want to try regular slinkys. (I think stock are the supers)

I say do it! I just put them on my Bongo 5 and like it a lot.

FYI, the Power Slinky 5 string set is: 50, 70, 85, 105, 135

While the Power Slinky 4 string set is: 55, 75, 90, 110


The 4 string equivalent to the Power Slinky 5 set would be the Regular Slinky 4 set.

I used them religiously when I was in a band that started out a 1/2 step down, and then dropped to drop C# tunings. I think you'll find it difficult to intonate your 30th (because it's string thru) if you used a very thick guaged string.

I own a 30th. Had Power Slinkies on it. I didn't seem to have any difficulties touching up the intonation on it. I am not sure why string-through would make it more difficult, and the string guage is not that much more.

I found when I had a string through bass that the angle that the string is at on the bridge made it a little more difficult to move then saddle for intonation. I always managed to get good intonation though.

I've used Power slinkies on my 4 bangers before and I loved them when we would tune down 1/2 step drop D which would be a C# bass string. In standard they are tight but not uncomfortable. Big sound too!!! From my experience.
