After having this bass on layaway since January, it is finally mine. It came home last week, but I wanted to wait until I had taken some pictures to start a New Bass Day thread. In any case, this is the most incredible... most playable... most delicious bass I've ever come across, ever. Everything Craig said in his recent Bongo 6 post, I reiterate here. The string tension actually feels like a shorter-scale bass, like 33" or something. But the B sounds like a 35". It's a breeze to adjust to: I was used to the 6 string configuration after a day of playing. For all you fivers - ADouglas, Bovinehost, and so on - you should really get a 6. So many melodic possibilities.

What else is there to say except, well, thanks! Thanks EBMM for creating such a wonderful and unique instrument. I like things that are a little off the beaten path, and this bass feels like an extension of my personality.

Let the bass porn begin!

I'm backing up a singer-songwriter who'll be opening for the Fray, Kesha, and the Goo Goo Dolls at a huge outdoor event next month. Guess what bass will be making an appearance? :)

Wow! That bass looks hot. I love that finish with the gold hardware. You must have had it on layaway for a while, but I'm sure it was worth the wait.

Thanks guys!! The rosewood grain is indeed incredible. I should probably specify - I haven't had this bass on layaway since 2008, just since January. :) The wait was still pretty tough! Sigh, being a university student...
