both our A & B rigs now have polytuners.

The TC Electronic Polytuner is really great. It is accurate and fast. With my band during our set, I have to change the tuning of my guitar (songs with a low D, but also a song with the low E tuned to F#) and of course I have to do it quickly ...
My old tuner was really a pain in the a$$ for that.

How are the pedals connected to the effects? Are they BEFORE, so the tails keep going until they die after he presses the pedal all the way back, or are they AFTER, giving him more control on them? Anyway I don't think he uses any feedback on those delays so the tail shouldn't ring too long.

After, I believe. Signal is always fed to the delays, then the VPs can feed the output of those to the mixer.

I really like the idea of using an expression pedal to blend the delay in and out... How is this accomplished? I think I am missing something, because I'm imagining when they expression pedal is off, no sound would come through to the amp?

it's a parallel setup.....not a series one.....

Yeah. You could do it like Steve does, or you could have a parallel fx loop with a mix control which would allow the dry signal as well as a wet signal to hit the power amp section in whatever proportions you want. Sticking a volume pedal in there would also accomplish what Steve does with the continuous variability of the level of the effects coming through. Just connect the fx send to your effects unit. The return can come through the volume pedal before the signal hits the fx loop return. Really easy. Works really well, and, yes, I stole that from Steve Morse.
